Wow, just wow. I am so happy for this team. They always worked hard but it never seemed to pay off for them. It finally did today and when it really mattered most. We will go to a play-in game and I don't think we can doubt this team.

Couldn't happen to a better guy like Dale Layer.

Possibly the toughest route to a Big South Championship yet...beat host Coastal, #1 Seed High Point, #2 Seed Gardner-Webb, and #1 Seed Charleston Southern. Unbelievable. I honestly had given up towards the end of the season and these guys made me believe. Way to go guys.

Flames played a heckuva tournament.. 4 wins is a tough thing to do.. It's also one thing to play the first 3 games with no real pressure or expectations to win.. it's another thing to play as loosely as the Flames did from the opening tip once you actually get into the final game.. Good luck in Dayton!

I watched the end of the 1st half and most of the second, on and off.

due to my hx of being a jinx, I'd watch for 30-45 sec then switch away for 2 min.

It's actually made me want to each BB again after last Saturday!

I said it in the game thread...this is the sweetest of the championships for me...1994 I had never heard of Liberty, 2004 I wasnt in town to see it and couldnt get the game on the radio to listen in, but to watch (and listen to) what we did, winning 4 games in 6 days, coming back from an 0-8 start, and getting to go to the Big Dance...words cant describe it other than this is sweet...

Astonishing. There really aren't many words that accurately describe what just happened during the last week with this team. It seemed destined to happen once Coronado started draining FTs near the end.

The one bummer I have is that this came the weekend spring break started so there really isnt the kind of excitement around the campus (although Im sure word is travelling on facebook and twitter)

And the nation is now quickly trying to get up to speed on this unknown Flames squad ...

I wore my Dr. Jerry Falwell "You mustn't be a loser" shirt today and plan on wearing it for every game of the tournament.

Credit those men and Coach Layer for not packing up when things weren't going their way. It's one thing to go through a slump, it's another to go 9-20. We've seen previous teams quit even when they were winning.
