I´m pretty sure our only option will be to pony up to KK for the BSC feed.

In the history of the Big South, has there ever been a tournament where hosting could have as big of an impact as this year? Looking at the Jekyll & Hyde of the Chants at home and on the road, I would argue the answer is no.

During the years we hosted at the Vines there were some seasons we were that good at home, but never that bad on the road. IMHO playing on our home court was no better than a wash for us in those years. Our opponents played with a chip on their shoulders due to the perceived unfairness of the situation, and I feel like the high expectations at times caused our guys to press.

High Point dominated the North and for their troubles their 1st game could potentially be against the host team Thursday night at 8 PM. HPU losing John Brown makes them a different team. If Liberty can survive the Coastal home court advantage, going to the Semi Finals is not out of the question. Liberty matches up well with High Point. I can't wait to see it all unfold. Headed to Myrtle Beach for the week!!!!
As for TV coverage there will basically only be web streaming. The Big South wanted to have impartial broadcasts and they asked for volunteers. I fell for the banana in the tailpipe and stepped up only to be NOT SELECTED again

I figured since I will be there anyway I would help out. Silly me for thinking they could use my professional services for free.

I'm going out on a limb and calling for the upset and a Liberty win!

I don´t think that limb is all that long or shaky. Yeah, I get that they appear to be a different team at home, but the players are the same. We beat them once, and rather handily. No reason to believe we couldn´t do it again.
If we do, then we face a High Point team without John Brown. We gave them all they could handle twice with him. Win that one and we likely get Gardner Webb, who we lost to by 3 in Boiling Springs. On a neutral court, it´s a winnable game.
The odds of us winning all 3 of those games are pretty long, but unless you are a dominant team that is pretty much always the case in a conference tournament. Taken seperately none of them would be huge upsets.
This all adds to the overall impression everyone seems to have that the whole ball of wax is pretty much a crap shoot and almost anyone could get hot and win it.

I suppose you are paying for the sins of the guy on staff at Coastal who Kyle seems to feel is the Voice of the Big South.

Well I'm still in play perhaps but I haven't been told which game yet. Doesn't matter to me. I enjoy just being there in a tournament atmosphere. It is nice that I will get to see the Lady Flames this year for the 1st time since the Frazees were Freshmen I believe. Should be a really fun week. I hope the Men's team makes some noise this week!!!!

I think LU can win the thing, despite a bad season so far. If the big men can have good offensive performances, and Sanders, Marshall, Speaks all have good games, (especially from 3 point line), LU could leave Conway with the trophy.

Thank you, Nostradmus of the hardwood.

Well if we don't have everyone playing well, I don't think we will pull this one out...

If the Flames score more points than their opponents, they probably have a good shot at winning the whole thing.

But only if CCU puts up fewer point than us
Bottom line: if we hit more 2's and 3's then they do and have just a slight edge from the FT line I think we could pull the upset

LU may be the most inconsistent team in the NCAA. A player will score over 20 points one night and totally not show up the next night. If each player brings their "A" game we have a chance because there is not real powerhouse team in BSC.

What if each player from the other team brings their A game as well? I mean, that's a lot of vowels.

We haven't won a tournament game with Layer as our coach yet, and I don't think this year will be any different.

I can't see Raffa and Greenwood bowing out in the first game on their home floor.

Bodoyle I'm here all week. The Media hotel is really nice! Right on the beach. Hope to meet you man. I will be down in the press row area or just behind that on the 1st row depending on the game session.
