I can't speak for Realist, but I'll reappear on here now. Sorry for the long absence (I'll blame it on having a young child...but I just have cut down my activity on all boards other than WinthropFans.com lately)...but I'll be making the 2 1/2 drive up to Rock Hill on Saturday to catch this game and looking forward to it. I've been impressed with how LU has played the last few weeks, I really had you guys buried after the first two months of the season.
As for WU, it's hard to know what to expect from night to night, but Derrick Henry is healthy after battling a nagging injury for a while, and that has helped the team a lot now that he's producing again.
Anybody on here going to the game? Is this a SCARVision game? I know it is on MASN, but I didn't know who was calling this one.

welcome back WEF. always good to hear from you.
been a crapshoot w/ LU MBB this season- never know which team will show up, but lately they've played tough
I think SCAR is back for this one which probably means we're screwed
EDIT: SCAR saying in another thread he hopes to be back for the Radford game. So we should win this one

I believe this is a Big South game so Kyle usually schedules some Charlotte cronies or the paid staff member of CCU.
It has been way too long, WEF. But the collective group of dads on here understand completely.

While I would welcome his return, I´m not too surprised Realist has made himself scarce here. He stuck his neck out pretty far in insisting that WU basketball was an established dynasty and wouldn´t fall off when Marshall left. Of course when Peale had success for a couple of years with purple faces players he could argue he was right. Now ................................... not so much.
Of course, before we get too excited about the demise of Eagles dominance, we need to be aware that with or without Marshall, we haven´t won a game in Rock Hill since Larry Blair was a Freshman.....................February 18, 2004.

I hope our basketball team beats them by the same score our Quiz Bowl team them by last Saturday at the Big South tournament: 465-40.

His overall record against Winthrop in 5 years was 2 and 9. The other win came at the Vines during what was otherwise a terrible season when Blair went off for about 40. Then a few days later they beat us by 41 in the first round of the tourney.

You guys are too funny

Sorry WEF, no SCARvision this weekend. I actually lobbied to get this game but to no one's surprise, I am NOT doing it. I am kinda glad I'm not doing it now since I have been away from home since basically last Saturday morning when I went to Lexington, VA to watch the game. I'll be watching on MASN though....And I agree with you on having a little one. It does change things.

Am I the only who thinks that every time Davon Marshall shoots a 3 it's going in? Seriously what is this kid shooting beyond the arch?

The recent years matchups down in Rock Hill seem to have gone the same way with Liberty battling and having an opportunity to win, only to see Winthrop finish on top. If only there were a movie with Bill Murray or a ceremony going on today with a rodent in Pennsylvania that could help me conjure up an analogy....

It's only when Haize steals his own post then we'll have 6 more weeks of winter . . .or something like that

Haize that was so clever of you that I didn't even get it the 1st time you did it. Now I'm laughing pretty hard. As for the game tonight I can't wait to see how the team does tonight. Offensively they seem to have a better feel for what they are trying to do. The sets look crisper and the movement away from the ball is with purpose. Liberty seems to be really getting a lot of energy and production from the 4 and 5 spots which in my opinion can be a real strength for this team down the stretch.
I will be DVRing the game tonight on MASN because at 7 PM I will be witnessing a battle of RAMS, Fordham at VCU. Let the HAVOC begin!
