This is a tough but winnable game. Winning this game could go a long way towards feeling good about yourselves too. I'm looking forward to the game on Saturday night!

winnable in what sense SCAR? UNCA is more talented and better coached. Nothing against DL at all. Plus the students wont be back correct? if so, a very small crowd. any secrets as to how we can win??

Score more points than the Bulldogs. Simple. That's why they play the game and don't just award the game to the better team as determined by polls or the opinion of fans.

We will compete but I don't see us winning the one. I hope I am wrong.

we do not have a chance at winning this game. if we win i will gladly eat crow. too many homers on this board who think we are so freaking glorious when in actuality are a bad team. jbock i guess you have turned into BEE-JAY Jr. i seriously want SCAR's opinion on what it will take for us to win because we are over matched.

wow smooth so angry!! Post holiday season funk???
Honestly I don't think there are that many homers hanging around talking about how great the basketball team is. Not sure what you are reading. There is no way they could, even BJ is having a hard time coming up with positive crap to say, haha

Its a tough go of things that is for sure. I don't like our chances this weekend but for what its worth, its not gonna help to just make like the French and wave the white flag of surrender

The whole thing about winning is mindset, UNCA believes they will win every game...
Bulldogs are good but have weaknesses, same with LU...
Keys to winning game for LU-
1- make about 8 three's
2- stay even in the rebound category & cut down turn overs
3- control Atkinson
4- believe you can win when the game gets tight.

Liberty is 1st in the Big South in 3 point offense and 1st in 3 pt Defense both in terms of 3 pt FG%. Now that Joel is back, they have more of a scorng presence on the inside. Plus Dale's teams play really hard in conference particularly. Very winnable game if they do the things listed above and believe they can win. Confidence down the stretch is important. Maybe winning on Monday the way they did might make the guys believe. Plus I think Liberty finally has a solid rotation and better defined roles. This team has a chance to gel in conference play. If I'm coaching them I sell the fact that we are 0-0 in conference and just won 3 games in a row and we will battle anyone in this conference.

I disagree. We need to keep them to fewer points then we do. I'm not sure we can win simply by outscoring them

That's why you're the coach. I humbly concede this point and consider myself "haized".
I know we are a big underdog but I've watched enough conference basketball games over the years to know that anything can happen. And I refuse to be the fan that thinks my team doesn't have a chance in any game, even if it is a very small chance.

You must really not want to see your parents.

Just delaying the trip one day, Purple--I'll be in West "by god" Virginia by Sunday.

im good postie, just tired of the wankers who blindly follow, suck up and think we are a good team when we are not and defend at all costs. i am not a bad fan and will support LU till i die financially as well as going to games but when its bad, its bad. I am optimistic that we can compete, but winning many games will be tough. and if we win i will
eat crow gladly. i want to win, i hope we win, just not confident.
SCAR, thanks for your analysis. i trust a former player who is very knowledgeable.

The only way we win this one is if the UNCA bus breaks down and they can't get to LU. When does baseball start?
