I had to laugh when I saw my sister's alma mater (for a semester before she fled) PCC on their schedule. But it blew me away to see the little community college near our family farm in Ohio is now called UC-Clermont. And they actually field a basketball team!?!

I think LU basketball is for any team that uses these letters: NAIA

I think we have 3 non D1 opponents this year. That's pretty consistent with past schedules of all our coaches going back to.................................. wait for it Purple..........................

Jeff Meyer.

BTW "Proud" do you happen to recall who was the last LU coach to LOSE to a non D1 team?

Actually it goes back further than that since we were NCCAA and D2. Several schools at this level play 1 or 2 NAIA schools.
Plus, I have a criteria for mentioning Jeff Meyer. It has not been met in this case.

I was speaking more in terms of the team looking forward to those games..so they can get W's.....cuz I'm pretty sure the D1 W's are gonna be few and far between. Did RD lose to a NAIA school?

Yes and No. We did lose to Barton College but it was an exhibition so it went as a loss but didnt affect our regular season record or RD's all time record

It's Game Day!
Sanders providing spark for Flames in return to starting lineup
Posted: Thursday, December 27, 2012
Damien Sordelett
There was a spark that was needed for Liberty to finally get things going in the right direction, and Dale Layer was trying to put his finger on what could help ignite the Flames.

Layer decided to mix things up by bringing John Caleb Sanders off the bench, reviving the role he had last season when he became a scoring threat over the final few games.

With his scoring average going up and his overall productivity higher, Sanders was reinserted into the starting lineup and he has been scoring at will heading into today’s 7 p.m. home contest against Union College.

Looks like we will have our hands full with this team. (Feel free to copy and paste for the rest of our games as well). :)

The question is will there be more points scored by both teams or fans in attendance?

Anyone know why Sommy didn't play?

Great job by all of our bigs who did play though. How about JVP getting a double double in 15 minutes! Great to see JR making his free throws (8-10) in addition to being a monster on the boards.

And Drew Smith had at least 3-4 dunks: he was a human highlight reel tonight!

We were down to 10 dressed players with Assenessi leaving the team and Sommy as a result of the car accident. Great 2nd half.
