Just picked him up and he'll have three years of eligibility. Nice handle and good looking stroke from the videos.

He actually graduated from HS back in 2007 and spent four years away from the game before playing last season at the JUCO. I'm trying to get the link, but he's apparently got quite the inspiring story.

The drop/add period for classes doesn't end until Friday.

Jarred seems like a huge potential asset. Hard to tell off of a highlight video, but there are parts of his game that I don't believe I have seen here the last couple of years. He combines a very nice outside jump shot with fluid moves around the basket and the ability to finish. Doesn't look overly quick and have no idea about his all around game including defense, but he really looks like a guy that could come in and average 10-15 pts from the three position right away. Kind of exciting as the guys that we have had recently who could shoot could not create and the ones that could create had a hard time finishing.

Yea, I haven't seen ball handling and dunking from a guard like that since...SCAR!

Has good post up moves - reminds me of Anthony Smith.

I agree with the Ant comparisons but the Texan had hops that it would be tough for this kid to match. The online scouting reports rave about his ability to create off the dribble.

I hope I'm wrong, and I admit I haven't researched this kid for 2 seconds, but how good can he be if he's available this late in the game?

Great question that I had thought about which is why I wondered about a potential lack of quickness but let's hope that it was one of those unique situations that came our way. It does happen.

The kid came out of nowhere after four years away from the game. So he wasn't on anybody's radar. He showed extremely well in JUCO showcase in Vegas but most everyone had given up their scholarships. So us having one pop up at the last moment gave us the opportunity. Otherwise he was going to spend another JUCO year in Cali and likely have a bunch of suitors this winter.
