What's the roster looking like for next year:
Burrus - Senior
Speaks - Senior
Sanders - junior
Vanderbilt Pol - junior
Davon Marshall - junior
Cornado - junior
Andrews - junior
Donley - junior or sophomore
Sommy - redshift sophomore
Baird - R sophomore
Smith - sophomore
Gielo - sophomore
Taylor - freshman
So that's the team...if there is a mystery recruit someone has left or isn't going to qualify? Is this correct?

Starters
1 Davon Marshall - junior
2 Speaks - Senior
3 Gielo - sophomore
4 Burrus - Senior
5 Coronado - junior
The only name I'd write in pen would be Burrus. There is going to be some competition for four of these spots. Also, i believe Layer is still on the team.

Layer is a walk-on
Speaks will be playing the 3.

Gielo probably comes off the bench, with Speaks starting at the 3 and JC at the 2.

unfortunately JC is on the team..I would look for Coronado to start..I dont think Burris is a shoe in for being pegged as a starter either

Wow - tough on JC. He improved a ton this year (on both sides of he ball) .. And you can pencil Burrus as a starter.

So do we get back in contention of a title with this group?

I agree that JC has improved but he's a long way from being a solid 2 guard. His stong point is shooting but if he's off (and we've all seen him on a off night) then he becomes average at best.

I'm glad it's up to the coaches to evaluate talent and not those on this board.

I am a self proclaimed talent evaluator...JC is not that good..his D is horrible..I really hope Andrew Smith can piece it together this year. Sommy might be able to get a starting spot as well

Bigger question who is the point guard?

We have 2 true point guards coming in; JUCO transfer Emmanuel Andrews and Freshman Larry Taylor. In addition, JUCO transfer Devon Marshall can play either guard position. Either Andrews or Marshall will start at the point. We will have more depth at the position than we have had in a long time.

I will be shocked if Burrus does not start (at the 4). Layer likes to play his seniors, and Antwan is the only survivor from his first recruiting class.

I hope Coronado is every bit as good as advertised, but I'm not ready to hand him the role of starting Center yet. JVP looked really good at times, and those times were when his back was not acting up. He is having surgery to repair a ruptured disk, and if his rehab goes well, he may be ready to play at that level more consistently. I understand Sommy's ACL injury was not too bad as those things go, and if he is back to 100% or close to it he brings a level of athleticism the others don't. Overall, I think we are deep and strong in the post.
