1- J Sanders??? I dont have much experience with Liberty before the 1999 so not sure this is the right choice

2 - Karl/BA/LB. Can BA play the 3? If so, give me LB here.

4 - Someone give me some info on Steve Isaacs and Ed Vickers. Are they worthy? They have the stats.

My list is probably missing some that played with Hess or prior but I don't have enough info to go on. I understand there were some special athletes back then.

I'm going to slide Leo Lightbourne to Honorable mention and put David Dees on my bench.

The challenge ia in identifying a 3. Bailey really was a 2 and of the 5 positions, the wing has historically not been strong for us. But if Scar who played alongside him feels comfortable lists him as a 3, who I to argue?

Traditionally we have been strong in the backcourt with Hess, Hildo, LJ & Caldwell all worthy of some consideration.

I thought about putting Julius in at the 4. He and Aluma are no doubt the best 2 bigs we've had.

Juice played like a 4 even though he was down in the post most of the time.

Agreed, but Cliff Webber (the original C-Webb) was not terribly far behind, especially in his senior year. Guy had elbows and could do some serious banging inside. I believe the Celtics drafted him.

And if we ever do an all-time under 6' team, I like Freddy Morgan - 5'7", hit some huge shots in clutch situations, fun to watch.

4-Aluma (thin, shot-blocking version)
5-Juice

note: if we are talking a true power forward, it would have to go to Ace with Coleman and Burrus as his understudy (the 40 points Ace dropped against VMI in Lexington may have been the greatest single game performace that I've ever witnessed in an LU uniform).

BJ you didn't put Larry Blair on your list? Secondly you put Tim Scarborough on there? I don't know which one is more of a mistake

I was more putting together a roster. The thing with Larry is that he was an excellent player, but I think it was more of a "lets give the ball to Larry and watch" style when he was here. Itd be interesting to see how Jesse would have worked with someone like him though

Nobody dominates the ball more than Jesse that is part our problem. He would have loved to have LB finishing for him.

Jesse doesnt really "dominate" the ball from what Ive seen. Someone with as many assists as he does at least knew when to make the right pass.

Not sure who this is, but they know our basketball program pretty well... IMO.

White was the best talent to ever play here, but Hildebrand was the best Point Guard.

I have to say that while Julius and Peter were both really post players, Nwosu did play the PF position his first year, with Mike Coleman in the post so I give him the edge over Gabe Martin, who also played out of position at the 4 for one year.

Baily beats out Hess at the 2. He would have surpassed Karl as our scoring leader had he played here 4 years, and he played against tougher competition. Ed Vickers over Smitty simply because I wanted someone from that era, and along with Bailey and Willard DeShazor, he was one of my alltime favorites to watch. I believe his game would have held up well at the D1 level. I know some voted Hess in at the 1, but even though he had a lot of career assists, Karl was never really a PG. He played the position when we had noone else who could do it.

Probably the best we ever had at the 4 didn't qualify because he only played one year..... Parrish Hickman.

Hickman and Brewington would be on the list if they had played here more than one year. No one ever mentions TJ Bannister either because he only played one year but his assists were pretty Highlight reel worthy most nights. Obviously Seth Curry would have been an all time great too. Best 1 year wonders:

Parrish Hickman - Transferred From Michigan State and was a key player during Steve Smith's sweet 16 team.
Dwight Brewington - Transferred from Providence
TJ Bannister - Transferred from Virginia
Karl Williams - Transferred from West VA
