And you're the only police officer I like... even though you're from the north too.

BuryYourDuke wrote:High school players or not, that's probably the most athleticism we've seen around here since Gabe Martin. I hope this actually happens.
I would say a better comparison would be one of the few bright spots of the Hanky era, Carl Williams, a player closer to Walt's size who made an impact in his one year based almost entirely on his sheer athleticism. He led the nation in steals playing the small forward poition at 6'1". As far as I know he is still the only LU MBB player to lead the nation in any statistical category.

The difference is that Carl had spent 3 years as a BASKETBALL player at WVU before transferring. Walt hasn't played organized basketball since HS. I still think Carl could have been an NFL defensive back, but as far as I know, he never pursued it.

"[Walt] is going to start practice today," Layer stated. "He's a guy that has played high school basketball. In my mind, he is a college basketball player who happens to be a really good college football player. He's probably going to add something to our team in the near future."

Tall enough to do some damage, with the hops I saw on the video, ... and I don't know who he was playing against, but it looked like he has a very quick 1st step.

What's your source on that? He is listed at 6'1" on both the FB and BB rosters, and based on seeing him on the football field, I think that's about right.
