And suddenly our only D1 win doesn't look too impressive.

I love this "Whoever scores take them out as soon as possible" rotation that we use. Its very effective.

Yay Volleyball!!....

I realize that the game was on the line with those free-throws but I never have understood how a shooter can just suck it up from the line.

Another tough loss. I don't have a lot of optimism for this season.

I watched a St. John's player miss two free throws in the last seconds Friday night against Texas A&M, and then saw history repeat itself in the Vines Center on Sunday.

For someone who struggled with confidence last year this really worries me for JC...

Are we now 1-9 in our last 10 Division one games? O-5 in the Vines Center. not good for attendance.

Watched your game with W&M and I thought how appropriate it was that Sanders missed the FTs after the fellow doing the color comentary laughed at the player from W&M who airballed a FT. It was a really crappy thing to do and to make it worse he just kept laughing.

Well, we learned who we DON'T want on the line with the game in his hands....

Yeah I did chuckle at the airballs from the FT line. It is something that in the basketball world we all kind of tease each other about so I did find it amusing that he shot 2 in a row with no defense on him. If you listen to the telecast though I was quite complimentary of the Tribe and coach Shaver. I really didn't want to laugh but sometimes things strike you funny at the wrong time.

As far as JC missing the FT's it happens. It happens at every level, every year. Those are some pressure packed FT's. How many kicks did we see missed at the end of games just this past Saturday night with everything on the line.

If you have never been in that situation, you really can't relate. I certain have on more than one occasion taken the last shot or FT to win or lose a game in HS, College and beyond. I have come through on some of them but you always remember the ones you didn't. JC will be fine though. I think the Sanders boys are pretty tough minded and will bounce back. Pressure kicks or FT with everything riding on you can be the most difficult thing an athlete can encounter. It's the instant hero/goat scenario.

I agree with everything SCAR said.

Best thing you can do at those times is concentrate on mechanics, and let the chips fall where they may. Probably something akin to a field goal kicker or extra point kicker. Things go wrong at the highest levels. Rejoice when they go right, and don't kill yourself when they don't.

On the contrary, I'd want JC there again to WIN it for us!

I'd still choose Jesse, David or Tavares to be standing at the line because they have a lot more experience than JC. Maybe next year or the year after, but he's not our best clutch option.
