Mini Camp & France trip

Today is day 1 of our "mini-camp" in preparation for our trip to France this summer, as tweeted by @jeaker. Tavares Speaks and Andrew Smith are on campus. And the "new squad" is together. I guess this means everyone for the 2011-12 season is there except I guess for Gielo.

Have we decided who gets the 13th scholly?

1-Jesse
2-Chene
3-Speaks
4-John Caleb
5-Minaya
6-John Brown
7-Antwan
8-Sommy
9-Baird
10-JVP
11-Andrew Smith
12-Gielo
13-JA??

If it's over in LaHaye, I'll be sure to take some pics.

He also tweeted that Stephen Baird is cleared to return to action. It would be fantastic to get his jumper into the mix.

I guess I assumed Hart Gliedman was the 13th schollie, but after reading his thread there's nothing to confirm that.

@jeaker tweeted the names of the "newcomers" last night:
Kelly Scott Assinesi (who?)
Ethan Layer
Drew Smith
Stephen Baird
Tavares Speaks
Hart Gliedman
Kelly Assinesi has committed to continue his basketball career at Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA), an NCAA Division I school. Assinesi, a point-guard who played his first two years of high school ball in California, surpassed the 1,000 point mark in less than two seasons at St. Joseph's.

The roster on the LU website has been updated. Departing players deleted, but newcomers have not been added.

There is one name conspicuosly absent.

I will take credit for predicting on more than one occasion that Jeremy would be a GA this year. OK, so I thought it would be at LU. Can't blame him for taking an opportunity to get major college experience as well as a graduate degree from UVA.
