This is a huge blow to our rebuilding effort. If Davis wasn't happy with G-W, then why did he even enroll in the first place? We are losing at least two other players, but losing Davis, all-frosh Big South and point guard to build a nucleus around, is devastating.
Here's a link to an article of many floating around out there.....

Just thought I would share it with y'all.

Thanks for the heads up. If the kid is willing to give up a scholarship to walk-on at his dream school it is tough to see how you could do anything different. I am guessing Boiling Springs was a bit of culture shock for him.

Went to high school with this kid, and played ball with him every day after school in elementary school. He was a beast back then, and is a beast now.

It obviously hurts the Bulldogs backcourt for next year, I am sure they also lost the McNair kid as well and the shooter with the last name of - Brown.
Don't think Luke was recruited by the new coaching staff (Holtmann) so it's hard to tie him down or make him feel guilty for leaving. Kids in the state of NC are in aw of UNC, Duke, etc so it makes sense and Davis high school coach has some pull as he played at Duke and also coached Ryan Kelly.
Funny thing is the coach - Billerman - was shopping this kid around hard his senior year and GW probably was only school to offer him. He's from Raleigh, he'll never play but he'll get a better degree I guess.

The sad fact is being a walk-on at Carolina is a more glamorous life than being the star of Gardner-Webb. The people at Carolina know who every member of the Blue Steel is. They may never get to play, but they're some of the most liked people on campus.
