Heard from a source today that Evan has cleaned out his locker and plans on transferring. I have a reliable source close to the situation telling me that it may be to Arizona State to be closer to his older brother, Eric.

Is it just me or can we just have one peaceful offseason where there isn't so much drama?
Regardless, even though I'm sad to hear he's leaving, he has played WAY under his potential. I think he's had his fair shake here. Having said that, he was still a valuable part of the team. But I think we've got the tools to replace him. Bottom line, Evan can be good, yet replaceable.

THis sounds like a story for our resident scribe (whether true or not)

I can't imagine that if he was not dominating the Big South, that he is going to do anything but pick up splinters full time at ASU or a similar school. Regardless, sorry to see him go.

where is he going to go? He hasn't really proved he can be anymore then a decent player....
I'm not shocked, he has shown signs of being unhappy throughout the season and regardless of my feelings on how hard he plays I hope whatever he decides he can figure out how to become a better person from it.

Northern Arizona? We've already lost one former Flame to them recently.

He wouldnt be a bad assist for ASU. IMO a solid 8-10 ppg for them, could fit the shooter role for them.
If he wants to stay in LA or be close and not Arizona State then probably Long Beach State, CS Fullerton, CS Northridge, UC Irvine or Riverside.

Umm…wouldn’t Butler be a better fit, because it’s right in his backyard (Indy) and he can compete for the 1 or 2 spot.

This would explain him being completely checked out at the end of the season. He had the Curry attitude towards the end.

i would have rather him just quit before the season was over rather than go out there and play uninspired basketball. It seems as though He just wants to do his way and spouts off an awful lot to only be scoring 13 or 14 a game and be jacking up 3 pointers at a ridiculous clip. Dont get me wrong, i think he could have been a really good player but the talent isn't always worth the hassle, especially if you have to constantly motivate somebody to try their hardest.

i dont think anyone is really a evan hater, it's just that a lot of us are frustrated at his lack of motivation and his demeanor at the most critical times.

If true I wish Evan nothing but the best. On top of that I think we will be a better TEAM next year regardless of whether he returns or not. Don't get me wrong, we could use his talent but the chemistry could be better without him and with the guys coming in we can make up for the points lost. We will miss him most on D.
This is not a meltdown like two years ago. It is more like a speed bump on the hwy to better days. Jarring for a moment but quickly forgotten.

I heard rumors of this the day the season ended.

Much like the David Dees transfer?

This could potentially be a season breaker next year. When Evan was on, there was no one else on the team that could compare to him.

This one doesn't sting (personally) nearly as bad. Gordon's attitude stunk. Replacing his offense is going to prove to be difficult though.

I have been hearing the rumor that this could happen for over a month. But everyone seemed to indicate it wasn't a certainty. I'm not going to lie, this is going to sting a bit. Evan was beginning to put the elements of his game together. Turnovers were down and his defense was improving.
Frankly it sounds like he has legitimate reasons why he is leaving. I wish him nothing but the best no matter where life takes him. The Gordons & LU Hoops will always be forever linked.

IF he leaves, it will hurt offensively. When he was ON he was amazing. I still think he was just worn down at the end of the year, but the other scenario has entered my mond. We'll see.

Hopefully he's the last "little brother" we recruit

Forgive my ignorance. What are the "legitimate reasons" or "other scenario"?

So is it safe to assume that John Caleb will be our starting 2-guard next year, if Evan leaves? Who else on our current roster could play that position?

Source told FOXSports.com that Eric Gordon's little brother, Evan, is transferring from Liberty.

John Caleb
Jeremy Anderson
Jesse Sanders
We're suddenly hurting for guards
