was invited to Mullins Top 120 Juco Camp this past summer where top juco sophs participate
Notes: Very athletic wing with an excellent mid-range game. Been to the line 154 times in 25 games this season. Good on ball defender who scores in bunches. On schedule to graduate on time. According to Coach Mantlo, Tavares is currently being recruited by; UNC Wilmington, Liberty, Georgia State, Arkansas Little Rock, Middle Tennessee State, South Carolina State, Eastern Kentucky, Charleston Southern, St. Bonaventure, Montana State and Eastern Illinois
Liberty Connection...Head Coach: Ryan Mantlo

I like the words "mid-range." We don't need another chucker, that's for sure.

That's where my sister went to school before transferring to UNCW. I knew Mantlo was the coach there. Hopefully we have a shot if he's good.

you have to like the "been to the line 154 times in 25 games" too

Indeed...it means he attacks the rim. Having a good midrange shot helps too as that will draw the defense out and open up lanes for penetrators like Jesse and JB

had a rough day in a loss...1-9 (4 points). otherwise had pretty good games 20, 25, and 14... Won Juco Regional player of the year

Cape Fear guard Tavares Speaks had a rough day from the field in a loss to Tallahasee, but he looks to have talent. Mid majors in need of an aggressive driver could probably find some help from him.

Sounds like his game will compliment our needs nicely and at 6'4" I like the size upgrade. Next year's team is going to be fun to watch imo.

I'm hearing Tavares may be on campus this coming weekend for a visit ... but he won't be alone.

Are the other names a secret or are you pausing to build up the suspense?

Another JUCO wing from up north.
I'm hearing we have Evan's scholarship still open to fill with either one of these JUCOs or possibly another freshman.

Continues to tweet about LU. Just said he might be a Flame next Wen. Also just said he has much respect for Coach Layer and the whole program.
Hoping we can land this guy. Would be very nice.

You mean he has to work all year? Man, that sucks...
Note - Good coaches work harder in the off-season then during the year. BJ - If anyone would know this - it should be you, with your coaching background and everything?
