They've lost a lot of close conference games.

They won 102-65 tonight at Manhattan and shot 67 percent from the floor and 59.3 percent from 3. Should be a fun game Saturday.

Manhattan is terrible. Not the same team that back in the early decade you always picked to upset the 4 or 5 seed. Of course Chris you know that, just saying that because they used to be really good.
I'm still leaning Iona on this game, but hopefully we will get better after that VMI mess.

If we win this game, it will be our best win of the season thus far. Maybe not in the matter of importance, but in the matter of being the best team we have beaten.

He may be. The question is, will he be the best point guard on the floor Saturday?

Machado is second in the nation in assists. Has led most of the year but just got passed by UAB's Aaron Johnson. Manhattan is definitely way down from the days when that wacko Bobby Gonzalez was on the sidelines, but Iona only won by 18 at home, and any time a team shoots as well as Iona did last on the road last night, it's an eye-opener.

I feel like if we win this one it's worth playing the game, if not then it wasn't worth it. Is it ok to think that? I do think at this point in the season losing two in a row could be tough on the confidence of the team. Specially heading to Winthrop next. These last three games are more tough than they look I think.
Beat Iona!

Since I will be out of town tomorrow and unable to be at the bracketbuster game, I thought I'd pass on a plea.
Since this game will be on national TV, PLEASE WEAR RED! Yes, Boo Box and others I'm talking to you!

+1
I have quite a bit of Iona. It will be a dog fight, we have many similarities.

John Brown and the team as well as Asa Chapman fired up the students today in convo. Should have a great crowd!

I dont necessarily think itll be a waste if we lose this game...these guys have been pretty solid when it comes to confidence too...I mean we blew that big lead and lost at Hampton at the buzzer and then reeled off 12 wins in 13 games including streaks of 4 and 5 wins in a row respectively. Im not worried about how we will be after this game...

Iona (17-10 overall, 11-5 in MAAC) at Liberty (19-9 overall, 13-3 in Big South) (ESPNU, 3 p.m.)
My partner Todd Harris and I are calling this game from Lynchburg, Va., and I can't wait. Iona intrigues me with 6-foot-7 Michael Glover (18.7 ppg, 10.1 rpg), who is a double-double guy who simply hasn't gotten the attention he deserves.
Scott Machado has been at or near the top of the nation's assist leaderboard all season long. He currently leads the country with 7.7 apg to go with his 13.9 ppg. I can't wait to see him dish in person. Liberty has been chasing a very good Coastal Carolina team in the Big South, and it's been hard to catch a team that simply doesn't lose. The Flames are coming off a 79-69 loss at VMI and need to regroup at home.
Evan Gordon gives Liberty a guard who has scored consistently. Hybrid John Brown at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds can score, but it's his rebounding numbers that jump off the page (10.8 rpg). Pound for pound and inch for inch, Brown has to be the best rebounder in the country. I won't call a winner in this one. I'll just call the game on ESPNU.

Uhm... let's see... what the Gael is Iona?
Or where the Gael is Iona located?
We could make a "why didn't you play us in football" sign, but I don't think the BBall team would like that.

Sounds good. Although use your own judgement about the latter one. I told that one to my father and he didn't like it much. But it depends, we all know those people who can't take a good laugh.

You guys have to be able to do some kind of sign about their coach. His name is Cluess. Reads a lot like Clue-less.
Also, Iona is located in New Rochelle NY. That was the setting for the Dick Van Dyke Show many moons ago. Cider Jim and I might be the only two people who remember that show, but that was a "classic".
The people there have the NY accent (with apologies to my friends from there!). They call the school
I-own-er.
I don't know if any of this will made for "sign fodder".

To steal one from the late Jimmy V... "Iona College. Wait, you own a college?" If you make that one you're sure to be on cause ESPN loves going on and on about Jimmy V....
