If I'm not mistaken, we are the last team to beat CSU at their place (almost a year ago). It does seem we match up well against them. I think probably the best chance to keep CCU from going undefeated will be when they play CSU in Charleston.

Id agree...here's the thing with CSU...their home record is really the only thing keeping them in the upper half of the conference this year I think...they are 10-0 and home...3-11 on the road...

They've done well at home, but we should beat them in their matchbox-sized gym. I also don't see them beating Coastal in that place either.

No reason to. Last year CCU totally embarrased us at the chicken coop, and we turned around 2 days later and totally outplayed Chuck South on their court. We've beaten them 4 straight. Have they been good at home? Yes, and they were good at home last year too, but they have not been good against us. Layer has made a point of downplaying the CCU matchup and emphasizing that this game is just as important. This is a chance for our guys to virtually put a lock on the second seed, and I believe they are going to do it.

Care to elaborate or just doom and gloom?
I just feel like its a big let down or something like that. The game the other night basically insured we won't be the 1 seed going into the tourny and I'm just worried the guys won't be motivated like they should.

We've rarely ever lost back to back games under Layer. Once we got through that brutal November of last year, we've only lost back to back games 5 times. Our team responds well after losses most of the time.

Have you been watching our team the last 2 years? CSU has been tough at home, and they can beat us if they play their A game, but if we lose, it will not be because we are not motivated or there is any "letdown" from the loss to Coastal. No way. These guys bring their lunch bucket and play hard every game.

These guys arent just gonna roll over...maybe some of the previous teams might but these guys arent so mentally weak that a loss to Coastal is gonna shake them so much that they will lay down for CSU. The only reason youd think they would have a letdown I would think is because you WANT them to hav a letdown aredd

aredd, you said you had a bad feeling about this game...when asked why you said:

You practically resigned yourself to the fact that the guys wont come out ready to play because they will not have gotten the loss to CCU out of their minds. This is a different basketball team this year, since losing to Texas Tech and USF this year (which our resident scribe noted in his pregame blog), we havent lost back to back games. After the loss to the Chickens at home, we beat HPU by 6 (John Brown carried the day down the stretch in that one), after we lost to Hampton at the buzzer, we won our next game by 37 points. As was noted by olldflame, we got trashed in Conway last year...whatd we do next game? beat CSU by 13 (in their house). I think Coach Layer will have the boys ready to play for this one...well its gettin to be tip time but I gotta get ready to go back out to Amherst again so I will be out once again and I'll check things out when I get back...

Oh and Id say what Eric Holder can do but this is a family board...
