Big South Conference Play - Round 2

I know there is an entire half left, but Radford is up 29-23 over Winthrop with less than 3 minutes to go in the first half. Considering that Radford has been beat like a friggin' drum set this season, how would Realist explain away a beat down issued by Radford? Obviously, there is plenty of time left for WU to change things around, by I find the current score to be intriguing.

Let's cut them some slack for now. In all fairness, Radford is playing better. They hung in for awhile with Coastal. Are they still bad? Yes. But not as bad as when they beat D3 Emory & Henry by 3.

Radford wins 67-66
Where's Realist?
It seems Winthrop had 2 free throws to tie and take the lead and missed them both.

HPU losing would have helped us get out of the 8 spot a bit easier. HPU closed the last 2:40 or so of the game on a 13-3 run.
Now we have Winthrop coming to our place Thursday after losing two heartbreakers. They'll either be ticked or mail it in, hopefully the latter.

Winthrop always comes alive for the conference tourney. I still wouldn't want to play them. Probably what's worse for you all is that Radford won. But I guess you all still have the tiebreaker.

Yep, beat them there already and play them here with HPU in the last two regular season games. I really would like to get out of the 8 spot. I'm not too overly worried about RU.
If we beat WU on Thursday, then WU goes to UNCA Saturday and loses that would be a nice 4 game losing streak for them. However, WU is 7-1 at home this season, and finishes with 4 of the last 5 at their place, including you guys. WU could end up a 6 seed if they continue to slide, or could bounce back up to even the 3 spot if they got hot. A WU/UNCA 4/5 game could be a dandy, and the winner would not be an easy task for the 1, be it you guys or CCU.
Of course, I am assuming we are finally going to learn how to shoot the ball and score a few points and play well at our place for 5 of the last 7.
Heck, WU beat HPU by what, 28 last week, then turned around and lost at PC, then PC goes to HPU tonight and lays down late. To say there will be shuffling amongst seeds 3 through 8 over the next couple of weeks is an understatement.

I realize I will catch (you know what) for saying this, but I'm not expecting a win at CCU. I assume you would rather play us than CCU, and as for LU really everyone concerns me except VMI (we always seem to beat them). Every team we have played has shown us the ability to beat us and send us home packing. But then again, we've won every close game this year.
Ideally, from a Gardner Webb perspective I would aim for the 6 spot. But bottom line, what's most important is making the conference tourney period. You gave Coastal a run for their money already.

Well, I've harped on the fact ever since the schedule came out how we had 5 of the last 7 at home, and I figured we would be improving and play well in that stretch. Now we shall see. If we can get up to 6 conference wins by seasons end, we shouldn't be in the 8 spot, but maybe 7. The 6 may be a bit of a stretch, since WU will play better at home, and HPU still has loads of talent that hasn't jelled at all yet, and perhaps the most dangerous player that can take over any game in Barbour.
No offense, I would much rather play you guys than Coastal in round one. We matchup alot better with you IMHO.
Of course, we haven't mentioned VMI or CSU in the whole equation, who knows what either of those two will do.
