Well, we got drilled by the 3 ball pretty good at VMI. I tend to think we'll show up and get back to playing some tight half-court defense and give LU a good tussle.
FYI, Luke Davis, our freshman point guard, is going to be a special player at G-W before he is finished...really a good kid for Holtmann to build the program up with.

one would think with the weather clearing up in lynchburg and the excitement the students currently have with the basketball team that it would make for a great crowd on a saturday night

The Quiz Bowl team will be away competing in the BSC tournament at Coastal on Saturday, but I still bet the Vines draws 5,000-6,000 after that big win on Thursday night.

So they are having a big event on Saturday at Snowflex, naturally it's starting at 7:00

We can't take the guys lightly. Yes they are 2-8 in conference, but they can beat us if we don't come to play.

We can't take ANYONE lightly. It seems we don't like to win by big margins and the second time through the conference we won't be sneaking up on anyone. We will get everyone's best shot.

the thing that concerns me about this game is that after a big win like we got last night we could have a latdown and come out flat after being so high all last night

For real, who plans these events? Not to worry, I filed a complaint with Snowflex. Hopefully, we won't run into a similar situation in the future. Other campus events should be taken into consideration when planning something like Rail Jam, and I'm not referring to Open Mic night at Tilley.
I'm going to do my best tomorrow to encourage everybody I see to skip the Rail Jam, and come to the basketball game. The Rail Jam wouldn't be near as big of a distraction if it were being held at Snowflex, but it is being held in front of DeMoss, and some nice raffle prizes have already been announced.
Regardless, I'll be in the Vines Center watching the Flames cage some other bulldogs.

We've got to keep the game in the 50's or 60's to have a legit shot at y'all. Our halfcourt matchup zone defense is quite good.
Encouraging that UNCA shot 53% against you, not encouraging that LU forced 19 turnovers.
I wouldn't expect Layer to allow your boys to come out flat. If your crowd is as pumped as last night (as mentioned by many here), that will help with any emotional letdown that could happen.

If we beat these guys in OT, let's rush the court!

Hey man, we won on a buzzer beater and the students got caught up in the moment...no need being a d***** about it

Its socially acceptable to show up fashionably late to any SnowFlex events.

Just noticing that a win here ties us with our BSC win total from last year. (Last Year we were 10-8 BSC, 15-16 overall)
What a difference a year makes.

Actually, we have already tied last year's win total. As of now, we are sitting at 15-7. A win tomorrow would push us above last year's win total. It wouldn't surprise me (at this point) for the Flames to have 20 wins heading into the Big South Conference Tournament. With 9 games left in the regular season, I believe, I think it would be very reasonable to expect 5 of those to be added to the W column.

ALA is referring to conference wins - we have 9 now, one more will tie last year's 10.

Any possibility Carter will get in tonight or sometime in the future? I apologize if this has already been addressed in an earlier post. Thanks. Go Flames.

Probably not. He's pretty deep in Layer's doghouse.
