Is it just me or do we have the most boring pregame music in the world? Not only that, but its always the same songs year in and year out. This does not make for a good atmosphere. I know I dread before a men's and women's game getting there early because I have to listen to old 70's songs being played (and its perfectly fine, but not at a basketball game for goodness sake). So what does everyone else think? Am I just crazy?

Love the music (I'm an old guy), but what they played in the Texas tournament was even better. Loved hearing Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music" over the radio broadcast during the timeouts in the Lone Star State.

There are certain rules that Liberty has to follow in all of the music that they play at sporting events. Over the last couple of years we've been able to widen what's allowed but it's still not at the level that everyone in athletics would like. Also, every team submits the list of music that they want played during warm ups. The rules are getting better but they live athletics very handcuffed with what they can and can't play.

I can tell you I love the older classic music. Just not playing "mony, mony" all the time at a basketball game. I'm all about 70s and 80s music.

In my undergraduate days, our team used "Sweet Georgia Brown" the Globetrotters anthem. I went to a Duquesne-Dayton game in Pgh and they played Outcasts' "Say ya". Awesome. I'd be happy to hear Humble Tip sing the LU anthem.

Or Skillet's "Monster". That 'll rev you up!! As you can see I have a broad repertoire of musical taste.

In terms of atmosphere, I think this is the least of our problems.
