The team is already at South Padre along the Mexican border in the Rio Grande Valley. Wish I were making the trip but alas some family obligations killed my trip. You can guess how much it is killing me to not be at the only trip by the men to the Lone Star State in a decade. I was at the Texas & Baylor games back in the day. Wish I could've been in Lubbock on Sunday. Oh well.

I have covered many a MVSU game in the SWAC over the years. The Delta Devils always have crazy colorful uniforms and generally a penchant for being easily roughed up. I haven't seen them this season. But i suspect we'll be getting the DI monkey off our back Saturday.

Just curious ... other than Scar is there anyone else on the board who has ever been to South Padre Island? It is THE beach resort area in Texas (although I have strong allegiances to the Port Aransas/Padre Island corridor a few hours to the north).

After a 10 minute drought MVS scores 2 quick buckets to make it 17-10. Now it's 17-13

Another 3 for JC! 20-13. 3:47 left in the half.

Jeremy is in the game. That's the first he has played on this road trip.

Burrus dunks on the break! 22-13 with less than 2 minutes in the half.

Evan makes 2 FT to extend the lead to 24-13.

They hit a jumper in the lane. 24-15. Evan misses from 3 and they get a layup. Timeout with :16 in the half.

Jeremy from 3!!! We lead 27-17 at the half.

Nick informs us that it is a problem with his knee that had kept Jeremy on the sidelines the last 3 games.

John Brown scores inside to put us up 12 early in the 2nd half.

2 quick buckets by MVS make it 29-21 and then Antwan makes the lead 10 again with a layup.

Evan is like 1-6 from 3 today.

They cut it to 8 and then JB travels.

Minaya hits then they score inside 33-25.

We turn it over again. Then they miss and Minaya is fouled on the break. He misses his first FT of the year after 16 straight, then makes the second. We get a turnover and Jesse is fouled. 34-25 at the media time out.

Antwan scores inside to put us up 37-25.

2 straight fouls by MVS. 5 already in the half.

JB scores on the assist from JC. 39-25 and then they turn it over. JB is fouled. We are already in the bonus. He makes the first. Makes both and the lead is 16.

JVP blocks 2 shots but gets called for a foul on the second. They miss both FT. JC is fouled. He will shoot after the media timeout.

JC makes 1-2. Antwan rebounds the miss and is fouled. He makes both and it is 44-27.
