Going to be a good test for our bigs. South Florida's best player is 6'10, 245 lbs. C Augustus Gilchrist.

They are 2-2 w/ wins over St. Francis (NY) and Georgia Southern. Their two losses came against Southern Miss. and UCF.

Game will be broadcasted on ESPN3.

I'm loving the ESPN3 goodness. Let's see if the Flames can build on the momentum on strong play in Lubbock and finally get over the hump.

We saw what could have been a win at UNCW if they played more as a team. Then against TTU we saw the growth of the Team and a good performance. I think they step up and play tight with USF with a chance to win at the end. This is a young team, but I think we have more shooters and more rebounding than we've had and the depth is a huge improvement. Still a ways to go though.

Seeing JC hitting his shot from the get go is encouraging. We need someone other than Evan to present a perimeter threat, and it looks like Jeremy just can't stay healthy. Minaya's emergence is helping a lot in that area too.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Is Minaya's first halves better than the second? He starts off quick, at least in the games I've followed. We need him to be a bigger part of the rebounding effort.

Minaya has gotten of to a good start every game, and usually has a spurt at the beginning of the second half as well.

With Dominque Jones gone for USF, they have a very young team as well. If LU wins this game I wouldn't be suprised.

Should be an interesting game, esp. since 2 of USF's bigs are 6'10" and 6'11" and are 2 of the top 3 scorers on the team. Hopefully, JVP and Sommy will bring their A games as defenders; maybe Carter can even contribute defensively, like he did against big Art last year at Radford.

looking forward to catching the team here in tampa tonight...I would imagine this will be another competitive game and it shouldn't shock anybody if we win. Not saying we will, but USF lost their 2 best players last year and this year is a rebuilding year...they do have a couple solid bigs...but I think we can control that. Should be fun to watch, it will be my first trip to the Sun Dome

USF's starting point guard is out this game. Hopefully we can take advantage of that.

Interesting that they didn't start their 6"11 guy to match up with our smaller/quicker lineup.

7-5 USF at the first media timeout. Evan has a 3 and Minaya a layup for our points.

They go on an 8-0 run coming off the time out. We give up a few open 3's and don't do much on offense. Joel made a nice move to get to the line. Missed his first FT but missed the second. We get the rebound and layup. 15-8 USF.

They are HOT from outside right now. We need to weather this and continue to be patient.

If Carter and Joel can develop to where they can be successful playing together, we'll have a very nice inside presence.
