I love Layer. His quote at the end was great.

I'm excited to see how Gordon's game has grown. I think he has the potential to be a bigtime scorer for us...and I think working with his brother and guys like Conley and Teague will only help his confidence level.
I'm guessing when the rare occurrence Jesse is out of the game, we'll see Evan slide over to the PG slot with John Caleb playing the two. Would I be correct in my thinking there?

I wouldn't disagree. Having seen all three play I believe it should be noted that they are all combo guards in a pinch. Hopefully Evan's handle has improved which would give us a slew of new possibilities.

I’m hearing good things about Chene. Unless we plan to redshirt him, I imagine he will be getting the minutes when Jesse is out. This will allow Evan and JC to concentrate on the 2 and even could be times when we go small with a 3 guard lineup including Evan and JC.

I actually think that a more likely 3 guard lineup will have Chene at the point with Evan or JC at the 2 and Jesse at the 3. Jesse is best suited of all our guards to rebound and defend the small forward position, although Evan probably could do it some.

I also know where we ranked in terms of rebounding last year. Those numbers don't lie.

Im not trying to get that debate going again but i dont think the numbers always tell the story. I just think it's a bit telling that even Jesse would say they got out muscled in crucial times. I dont think they got dominated every game but i think a lot of the losses that was one of the main reasons.

Keep in mind, last year we often did play a small front line with Antwan at the 5, Patrick at the 4 and Kyle/Jeremy at the 3. They held their own well on the boards, but yes, it was tough.
This year, as far as I know, either Carter of JVP will be on the court most of the time. Both of them have beefed up, as has Antwan, plus we have added a 6'7" athlete in Sommy and a relentless rebounder in John Brown. Add in the fact that Jesse and Evan are easily the best rebounding backcourt duo in the BSC, and IMHO the boards may very well be the least of our problems this season.
