Mark these words.....Tyler Baker is going to be the man at LU. His potential is limitless....his work ethic this summer has been top notch, always in the weight room, shooting, staying fit. He may not see as much time as he desrves this year, (coming off an ankle injury) but he will be a leader in all areas on and off the court. Most impressive is his desire to please God and strengthen his relationship with Jesus Christ....you the man tyler you the man....

Again, I must be the voice of reason and say that we should not put so much pressure on a Freshman. It is not fair to Tyler to expect him to come in and destroy everything in his path. No matter how good of a season he has, if these threads keep up we will be expecting Adam Morrison to show up in an LU uniform. For the record I like Tyler a lot as a person and as a basketball player but lets give the kid a fair chance to do something worth talking about before we start all this TB for President talk. Great to know Tyler has friends on campus though. I was worried about him

For all we know, the two posters could both be Tyler himself. Anyways, I hope he does great. We all know that we can use as many bodies with his length as possible. Who couldn't?

Confidence and self-belief can't be coached, so if it is him, good to know he has a healthy dose of it;
Also, we should get this stuff in writing so we can cash it when November rolls around. All I want to know is if we are going to "George Mason" it with this crew, or crue, depending on your musical affiliation.

you can't tell that from the begining of the season. even with GMU, they lost to hofstra twice and didnt win their conference so even their fans didnt think they were gonna go that far

That's got the lead in "Dumbest Statement of the Week" for this week.

Well... Having Worked with the team i only know what i SEE and what im TOLD... Hes not a leader.. hes a scoring leader sure, but hes not vocal on the floor and not a leader. If he was a leader we would have been a lot better last season. He, in fact, is such a poor leader THE NEW players coming in this year are talking about stepping up and trying to be leaders due to LU having none. Sure Hes a GREAT PLAYER, HIS GAME IS AMAZING, AND HE WILL GO PRO(maybe), but hes not a leader... ask some of the role players for LU. As for dumbest statement of the week, maybe to you, but if he was a good leader he woulda put the crap behind him and Dees would still be here, and im sure we can all agree that it would be nice to have him and Blair, instead of just Blair.

I think we all agree that Tyler will be an NBA lottery pick two years from now. Let's start focusing on how to rebuild once he leaves early for the NBA.

Well, TBGBG, I don't work with the team but I did see every single game possible last year and he sure looks like he leads the team to me. I'll agree that he may not be all that vocal about it. I don't know that I've seen him bark orders at other players. But how many times did he just take a game over? How many clutch/dagger shots did he take when everybody knew it was gonna be him to do it? There's more than 1 way to lead, and I think if you're looking for a General, he's it.
I'll also echo whoever said Rell. If there's a leader by example I've ever seen, he's it.

by TylerBakersGonnaBGreat
You're Exactly Right about Rell... Ill give you that... And I will agree with almost everything u said. He did take a lot of games over, and the games we won, he won for us. The thing is you need MANY qualities to be a leader, not just be a scorer or a clutch player. Those things make u a great player, not a leader, leaders are great players, but not all great players are leaders. He did a lot of good im not saying he didnt, but he just wasnt a leader, and we will disagree here but u need to be vocal as a leader. If you are not vocal you get no respect and you are not a leader sorry. and like i said and im sure you will agree, scoring, hes a leader, taking over, a few times he was a leader, being clutch, hes a leader... but i use the word leader as in hes the best we had at it, so if you want to say leader as the best we had, ill agree with u 100%, i just think of a leader as someone who picks their team-mates up and plays all aspects of the game, sorry larry doesnt do that. Wait until you see D. Brew, THAT KID IS A LEADER AND A GREAT PLAYER!!!!
