RADFORD, Va. – Danny Nieman’s free throw with five tenths of a second remaining lifted Coastal Carolina over Radford 52-51 in Big South men’s basketball action Saturday evening at the Dedmon Center.

After Logan Johnson’s free throws tied the game 51-51 with 17 seconds to go, he forced a Highlander turnover at the other end and fed the ball ahead to Nieman, who was fouled while attempting a game-winning shot in the lane with less than a second left.

On Tuesday, the Liberty Athletics department is giving away $200 in cold, hard cash IF and ONLY IF 2,500 Liberty students show up for the game! So spread the word...get there early....be red and be loud, and you could be one of two winners that will receive $100 cash!

this was a great game at Radford last time, and I am sure they will be wanting some revenge. I personally am so excited for the game, and hope our players can step up. We'll be looking for Ohman to play up to his potential with a big night, and Jess to just keep doing what he has been doing. Carter stepped up pretty well against Art in the last game, so I will be looking for some good D from him and Antwaan. This would be excellent for our program if we can sweep Raddy this year. Let's Go Flames! And i like the promotion about handing out $100 to 2 students if 2,500 people show up.

We need a big game from Kyle. He is a VERY tough cover for Laz or JL-F, so if he is shooting well he should score. Plus we need Burrus to stay out of foul trouble this time. We can't expect them to go 1-22 from 3 again, so we need to step it up on the offensive end if we are going to get the sweep.

I don't think anyone has used hockey as an "excuse." It's a reason but never been an excuse.

I'm hoping for 3500. If we can get the 2500 students then getting 1000 people from the community and Radford shouldn't be that outlandish.

Should be a good one. Once again it will depend on our (RU) perimeter game (hopefully a little better than the pathetic showing last time) and how successful Liberty is at keeping big Art's touches to a minimum.

We need to make our free throws, something we have yet to do. If we can execute the inside game and make enough perimeter shots to keep LU honest, I like RU's chances.

What stinks is that the game is being shown on MASN at 9, so no posting during the game for me. Just watch the Mason/W&M game (precedes RU/LU on MASN) go 5 overtimes!

Really looking forward to this game as well. A season sweep of Radford would be SWEET! But we'll see. It does seem like a rivalry game too. I still remember last year's choke hold of Brolin Floyd in the waning minutes. And they'll be wanting revenge too, but hopefully we'll pull out a W.
