I was going to try this with other sports, and knew I wouldn't be able to pick enough players to fill a roster. Basketball is the only one I think we can pull this off with.
So, pick your all-decade Liberty team from 00-09. Pick 10 guys, first five by position, last five "bench" regardless of position... and pick a coach, but let's not discuss coaches too much, just pick one and live with it.
G-TeeJay Bannister
G-Seth Curry
G-Larry Blair
F-Gabe Martin
F-Alex McLean
Coach- Dale Layer
Bench:
Anthony Smith
Jesse Sanders
Rell Porter
Ohman

I know you weren't here, but you HAVE to have Gabe

I don't know enough about Gabe Martin and Chris Caldwell to say where they'd be but I know they've gotta be up there.
1- Jesse Sanders
2 - Larry Blair
3 - Anthony Smith
4 - Gabe Martin
5 - Alex McLean
Chris Caldwell
Ryan Mantlo
Seth Curry
David Dees
Leo Lightbourne
Coach: Dale Layer
I did not put Teejay and Brew on there because of their short stints here. The reason I put Seth on there was because of the enormous impact he had on our team in the one year he was here. It was much bigger than the impact of the other two. He rewrote the freshman records here.
Had Seth stayed even this year, I would've had him in my starting lineup over Jesse.
I was very, very tempted to put Kyle on there. I can't disagree with someone who puts him on there.

IMO, the 2-5 spots are locks with LB, Ant, Gabe, and Alex.
The 1 could be TeeJay, Mantlo, Woodson, Jesse, or another guard that isn't really a 1.

As much as many want to admit RD would have to be my coach at least....RM brought us no hardware and RD's the only one in the 2000's to do that for us
Also...Sarchet? Interesting....he's one of my favorite players but Alex was a beast

I put Gabe in... looked up a youtube of him, that's good stuff.
And I never got to see RD coach, but as a recruiter you can't deny he brought in some of our best players. I think if I actually got to watch him coach it could sway me either way.

Anyone think that Pat could turn into a Gabe Martin type of player in a year or two?

Jeremy Anderson and Tyler Baker, can I ask why you think those guys belong on this?

I went back and forth on JA, he's shown flashes of brilliance, but nothing sustained enough to put him on the list... Ohman is much more deserving.
And TB, though he WOULD have been great, has no place on this list. He could have been a great player for us, had he played substantial minutes. And NOT having Martin, but including Baker, is simply an oversight, or poor judgement.

First I didnt see that we were only limited to five subs (as I noted) so I was thinking of guys who made an impact...Jeremy adds another sharpshooter along with Mantlo and Ohman, and TB...I guess that was more a "what might have been" selection...Having to limit my bench to only five guys Id say...
BN-Ohman
BN-Mantlo
BN-Curry
BN-Sarchet
BN-Porter (again...for the kids)

Yeh, he's hard to justify not putting him in for reasons other then personal...and if we're not putting people in b/c personal reasons we're left with one coach to insert from the 2000's

Haha, yeah I typed his name in then deleted it and put Layer so I wouldn't be "that guy."

I didn't forget him. I had him on the team at first, then took him off for Dees. The only knock on Vince is he only had 1 really good season.

Yea agreed, he had a great build (no homo) tall and athletic, I liked his game a lot but only saw him play for one season.
