Something I find interesting

In the UNCA thread, I mentioned how we have done historically against the three officials that we had. That made me wonder how we did against other officials too, so I decided to look up our records vs the officials that we've had at home this year. All of these guys have officiated at least one game in the Vines Center this year (well, all but one, but we know he's coming eventually). I didn't take the time to look up road officials. I may end up doing that later if I get curious again.

(Note: By posting this, I'm not saying one ref likes us better than another or vice versa. It's just something I find interesting. Please do not take this as me making excuses or criticizing officials.)

Scott Smith: 6-12 since 1999.

Tim Haddix: 3-2 since 2006

Chuck Ellstrom: 3-4 since 2005

Rick Ridenhour: 2-3 since 2007

Ken Pike: 2-3 since 2006

Matthew Oblas: 0-1 since 2009

Geoff Brooks: 5-4 since 2005

I like trends. I always look to see who the refs are before every game. You know what type of game you're going to get depending on who the refs are.

FWIW, Jason Page has LU ties (LCA) and there is a website who's name I forget where they list this for every official and school

And he actually graduated from LU, so I'm shocked he's allowed to ref LU games. I know he hasn't been allowed to ref LC games this year since he's employed here as an assistant tennis coach.

Page is given the non-conference games (ie NAIA, etc...) for that reason. As it stands now, Forte will not put him on an LU game when its a conference game.

I remember back in the day Karl Hess used to ref BSC games and I believed they had the same policy. He did a couple of our games, but not against conference opponents.
