I am going out on a limb and suggest that Phoenix & I are the only two on the board to have any idea what a Shawnee State is much less have been on the campus. We called it Floodwall Tech back in the day.
Shawnee State University
Portsmouth, Ohio
Public University
Enrollment: 4300
Affiliation: NAIA Division II
Nickname: Bears

I agree with you sly about what you said in another thread...why don't we play a school like cederville or houston baptist...sounds like a good plan in the future

I applied there directly out of Marshall, but I think back then (1985) Shawnee State was a community college. I may not have set foot on campus before, but I have been to Portsmouth once.

I've been on the campus before....
and posty....as far as playing teams like Cedarville and such, we might as well, we are playing the same teams they would play on a regular basis

I've spent a good bit of time at the library at Shawnee State. A lot of former students (both mine and my wife's) go there, and I've chaperoned at least one field trip there before.
One of their guards goes to my church.
Shawnee State plays Cedarville every year; there seems to be a decent in-state rivalry there. I think in a couple years the Bears be a force to be reckoned with in the NAIA, but they haven't had a good team for a while. The locals are pretty excited about the freshmen they have this year, though. They're a pretty young team this year (kinda like LU last year, to be honest). They've got a lot of potential, but they need some time together to really jell as a team.

Yeah, Shawnee State was a community college that had some affilliation with OU because my mom took classes there to keep her teaching certificate up to date. I have driven by campus a couple of times in the past decade and the state is investing heavily in the joint.
Cedarville just stepped up this year to NCAA Division II.

Cedarville was NAIA before, correct?

Then I'm definitely going over.

If you put it at 57.5 I'm gonna still be tempted to go over.

Spread: 27.5
Over/Under: 101.5

Those are both pretty easy, BJ. Everyone will go over on both. Look at how we did against Southern and against KCU. If we do somewhere between those 2, then we win by 50+ with over 130 scored. This is why I do the prop bets.
Liberty by 53.5 and an O/U of 132.5 is more like it.

Just got back from the game. Can't believe we didn't have a single post here during the game. That has to be the first time that's happened in a while. We looked tired and did what we had to do to get the win 70-45. Can't complain about the defense I guess. Konan and Gordon with 12 each and Perez with 10. Jeremy 3-5 from 3. Carter had 3 or 4 blocks, 2 on consecutive shots.

McMasters had an amazing dunk that was waved off as an offensive foul, even though it was one of the amazing shots that I've ever seen in the Vines.

Is it me or does the lack of effort worry some people. We might be in a world of hurt come BSC time if they dont start playing with the amount of effort a team without a true go to player needs to have.

It's as if this team is missing someone. Like it was built like a machine with each part serving it's purpose, but one of those parts was a dbag and transferred to a different machine so that it could blend in, in a world of similar parts.

Can we please not turn this into another "Why I hate Seth Curry and the fact that he transferred to Duke" discussion LUconn?

BJ stop...I think we're over that and wondering who is going to be the person to step up

oh Im sure of that HMO...I just saw what LUconn said and read between the lines. Burrus has played very solid the last few games, Konan is turning into a beast as well. this team is starting to round into a very good shape at a very good time. We have a nice little break coming up then a chance to get one or two wins to close out 2009 then its back into conference play with our uptempo friends up the road.

Layer noted that Liberty changed the academic schedule after this game had been scheduled. The game was not originally scheduled to fall during finals, but they couldn't move the game after the change. That's why the players looked so out of it. Everyone had finals today.

I've been thinking this since early on in the season. This team has all the role players that last years team needed to go around Curry and Smith. This team has all the parts except for the two big top scorers that we need. Hopefully that is Baird and Sanders because I'm not sure any of the guys on the roster now are ever going to the "go to guys". It's always if if if around here haha.
