I was wondering who would catch that, olldflame. In light of the other threads working today, I didn't want to point it out.

Of course it certainly would be nice to inflict some punishment on the school that wrought the plague known as Oprah on us all.

If we could use a wedding analogy ("always a bridesmaid, never a bride"), in hindsight, John Cooper really may have been the "best man" 3 years ago.

Cooper's D1 head coaching career is not off to a flying start, but obviously it's very early. Rumor is he was actually offered the job here, but turned it down over money.

Call me Mr Koolade, but I like who we have now. Just wish we would/could have hired Layer in 07. I don't remember what the exact timing was on his firing at CSU, but I don't recall him being on our radar screen until after we hired RMK, who immediatly went after him as an assistant.

That's my memory, too, olldflame, and I'm sipping the Layer :koolaid as well.
I guess we have to thank RM for bringing us DL in the first place.

And he's still living in the same house in Forest that he had in 2007.

JB wanted a minority coach 2 years ago that's why Layer wasn't on the radar then.

There were a number of candidates for the job, and they weren't all minorities. Your blind hatred for JB has gone beyond annoying to pitiful.

Sorry, I had to say something, but since this will soon be the game thread, I won't respond to this garbage here any more.

JE points out that we are playing on the court of the University of Chicago, which is the "Home of the Flames."

Technical on Cooper, Kyle makes 1-2 to make it 20-14.

You can be mad at me all you want to but the people in the basketball world knows that's the profile JB was looking for.... I got no hatred for him.... their is nothing wrong with wanting a minority christian coach.
