Jeremy Canty, a 6-foot-1 shooting guard out of Portsmouth (Va.) I.C. Norcom, is off the board. The 2011 wing committed to Liberty this week.
"He had a really good summer, especially at the adidas It Takes 5 in Cincinnati," Wave Basketball coach Frankie Cabrera told Scout.com. "His recruitment picked up and Liberty made him a priority."
January, 2009: Jeremy is a great scorer. He plays with an extreme amount of confidence and never seems to get raddled. He has a very good mid-range game but has range beyond the college arc. His jump has good form and he is capable of scoring in bunches. In my evaluation he played both guard positions with equal efficiency. He has a very good basketball IQ and plays with the passion and intensity you want from a young player. Although his he has to improve his shot selection, Jeremy is terrific at breaking down defenders and getting to the basket. In the open floor he is very good at shooting the 3 ball or using the one dribble pull-up. He will be one of the next great guards out of the Hampton Roads Area.

does anybody have an updated scholarship grid thing? I'm curious to see what's available.

Anyways, with Baker and Ohman not coming back next year - JC Sanders and Baird takes their spot. If Bowen were to come next year, someone else on scholly would be a no go. Since we have no scholly JR's, then someone else would have to leave if Canty (or anyone else came).

You don't know that Baker isn't coming back next year.

I think we're going to lose a couple of players. Offering Bowen, i think, is enough evidence.
2011 reported offers
Keith Belfield
Devince Boytkins

There are a number of assumptions made in this thread that I don't believe to be accurate. Patience will make everything clear. In the next 12 months by the time he would be eligible to sign there likely will be more clarity about our scholarship situation.
ballah09 - If you check back through this forum you'll see Jordan Green and Jernell Hughes also report offers. But obviously this commitment affects everything else.
Welcome to the LU family, Jay!

good find. He looks like he'll be a slasher. Normally highlights of a 2 guard will be shooting heavy

I thought we decided we didn't have any open scholarships next year anyway. I wonder if we'll recruit trying to replace him assuming one will open up or just sit on what we have.
