Keith Belfield 6’5” combo guard, Cannon HS, Concord, NC, said to be target of many D-1 programs already
Charlotte Observer reported that Keith Belfield (2011 Cannon School) has been offered by Richmond and Liberty. Averaging 15.5 points per game this year. Visited in Feb.
December, 2008: This kid is very skilled for a sophomore. Belfield could end up being a 6-8 shooting guard when he is done growing. He is good off the dribble, sees the floor very well and makes the high percentage play the majority of time. He plays under control and is blessed with a good basketball IQ. The one question mark I had was his athleticism; he may be tapped out in this area. He had moments where he took over games and other times disappeared for long spells. A big part of that has to do with his experience.
He has transferred to Davidson Day School and added a few more offers.
Carolina Weekly wrote:Belfield’s binders are now full of mail from Atlantic Coast Conference, Ivy League, Big South and Colonial Athletic Association programs. A rising senior, he already has offers from the Charlotte 49ers, Richmond, Tulane, Liberty and Pfeiffer. He hopes to make a decision on a college at the end of the summer.
So if things were going so well for Belfield in the recruiting process, why did he leave Cannon, where he averaged 20 points and six rebounds a game during his junior season?
