Good for Kyle and good for Liberty getting a little preseason recognition.

#1 Rotnei Clark is from a nearby town. I first watched him play in a pickup game when he was in 8th grade. He was and is LIGHTS OUT! He is the kind of person that probably would have chosen a school like Liberty if it were not located so far from home. He is the type of player that normally would fly under the radar of the big schools because of his size (no way he is 6') and played for a small school. Coach Pelphrey is glad to have him.

Austin Kenon of VMI (22nd) and Grayson Flitner of G-W (41st) are also on the list from the BSC.

I don't doubt that Clark is a great shooter, but I would think your #1 ranked guy should have at least a 40% average in games. I really don't care if he made 95-100 in a shootaround.

Remember number 3, Josh Jenkins. Best shooter I've seen coming out of high school since I have been working/playing with AAU teams(about 10 years) Very similar to JJ reddick.

Would have liked to have seen Sean Smith get a little love. Sure he only hit 74 threes (and I think 28 of those came in our loss to Liberty at the Vines.. prompting some memorable lines from Scar), but he did shoot an eye popping 46% from downtown.

I'm not a big fan of Ohman, but he can flat out stroke it.

This whole list is crap we all know Tyler Baker is the greatest shooter in the country.

Here's my list of the top 5 long-distance shooters in the Big South (and I picked this mainly based on the amount of fear I have when I see these guys launching an open three...so there may be some bias based on which games I've seen them play and how they've done the times I've seen them on tv or against WU):

1. Austin Kenon - dude is flat out scary when he has an open look. He single-handedly kept VMI in the finals last year against RU.

2. Jamarco Warren - he hits ridiculous shots from any part of the court, with hands in his face.

3. Sean Smith - not sure why he doesn't get more looks, but I feel like he never misses when I see him play...just doesn't seem to shoot enough.

4. Kyle Ohman - I'm putting him on here based on his stats, but he generally struggles when I see him play, so I don't 'fear' him as much as the three guys above him on my list. Though I did see him light up CSU last year in the BucDome, so I know he's capable.

5. Grayson Flittner - was hurt last year so I don't think the league saw how well he can shoot. His numbers were very strong his sophomore year.

I totally agree with the 5 players on WEF's list. I might just tweak the order in a couple of cases. I also agree that although it's understandable why noone else is mentioning him, barring another injury, Jeremy Anderson will belong on any list of the best shooters in the BSC before the season is over. He's a bit less athletic than Kyle, but as a pure shooter, I would give him the edge.

I agree on the Anderson comments. I think out of anyone on our current team, I'm most excited to see JA get back on the court.

With Dickey and Primm in the backcourt together, we will essentially have two point guards on the court at all times and Sean should get some more open looks this year.

He also has hopefully improved on creating his own offense off the bounce.. which will give him more space. The past three years he has essentially been a spot up shooter, which makes it hard to get consistent looks from the perimeter.

Wouldn't the issue be not that he took too many shots, but the fact that he didn't make them.
