James Madison sophomore guard Heiden Ratner, a fan favorite for his in-your-face defense, said Tuesday he plans to transfer. Ratner, who saw little playing time in coach Matt Brady's first season at JMU, said he has received his release from the university. He has not yet picked a new school.
I know this guy personally, very strong Christian and a man of character. He is a defensive stopper, but doesn't provide much on offense. I know ya'll are focusing on replacing your coach, but do you think would Liberty be interested in him?

How can we be interested when there's no one to have the interest in the first place?

May a consortium of FF's should apply for the job- then we can officially express interest. And we won't quit, either.

I think at this point we're going to need to focus on getting enough guys for the 09-10 season, wasting a scholly on a transfer who would be a role player at best when he finally is eligible doesn't seem worth it. If he wants to pay his own way for a year, I'm thinking we could find a spot for him. Otherwise, I doubt we give him a shot.
I would guess he'd go D2.

Every team needs a great role player.

Not if he doesn't see the court. I agree that if he wants to pay a year, and practice with the team, he can earn a scholly that way. Don't waste a scholarship on a role player who isn't going to even see the court next year.
