Had a wonderful visit. Dinner at Docs with a friend of mine, then off to the Vine (people were very helpful with directions, it was so close I felt stupid!) which is a pretty neat venue for college basketball. I sat about a row up behind the JMU bench (I was the really loud annoying guy who stood up when we shot FTs and was wearing a James Madison University TShirt) and had a blast, ya'll played us toe to toe for a good 30 minutes. Good luck next year.

Oh and, I really hate to be the bearer of bad news, but another friend of mine who goes to Liberty says that rumor has it that Seth is transferring next year. You guys probably would already know this, but I'll post it anyway.

Glad you enjoyed yourself. I got to talk to Mike Schickman after the game...despite some of his cringe-inducing calls youve got a real class act for a broadcaster up there in Harrisonburg.

Seth would be a moron if he transfers. He would have to sit a year. And if he transfers somewhere else, he is not going to be "THE GUY" there. He could play at an ACC school, but he would be coming off the bench. He's not going to get his 20 a night playing at VT.

I said on the 'buzz' thread that in the interest of Big South hoops in general, that it is important Seth stays at Liberty. Good exposure for the conference and a player like that creates a buzz that causes the level of play to be raised a notch or two.

I heard a rumor last night that Seth was gonna dress up as a girl and play for the lady flames so they finally had some athleticism. If they made a movie about it, it would look something like this

You have no idea the stuff that gets thrown around campus
A friend of mine who goes to Liberty says that we use an Eagle as a mascot because a Flame is a flock of eagles.

They also told me that Demoss is to the exact specs as Noah's Ark.

Coach McKay, Curry, and Soko are all transferring to Winthrop.

We're getting Peele & Realist.

:/ I tried to be as "this isn't for sure, don't take it as gold" as I could, but the information was from a source that was supposedly close to the team.

also, after the game we stopped at Coldstone/Paneras, and at Paneras some nice guy with a "Liberty Dad" hat on started talking to us about JF. So many stories, I couldn't even pretend to remember them all, but the one that stuck out was that Bear Bryant is buried here?!? or something like that. Really nice guy.

No Bear Bryant, it is Abraham Lincoln, but don't tell anyone. He is buried under the big L on the mountain.

You're still posting a rumor you heard from "a friend" that may or may not be close to the program. You have no basis behind it. Not to mention that as of right now, you have no credibility on this board. Some people on here are known to know people and know things that the general public doesn't so if they post something, it means something. You're just spreading rumors that you don't know are true or just a Liberty kid being dumb.

That might be a little harsh...after all this is a message board...if you cant post things you hear, here then where can you. I have no problem with it as long as you preface it with "I heard this from a friend, and it could only be a rumor" I know this message board is full of more facts then pretty much any other one ever but still...he said it could only be a rumor

I have no problem with people who have credibility spreading stuff.

A lot of the guys in here are in class with the players every day. They hear and see things that are first hand. That's legit enough for me.

A lot of people in here have been around Liberty their whole lives and know people who are right there. They've been proven right before. That's legit enough for me.

A lot of people here work for Liberty and see things that other people can't. That's legit enough for me.

A JMU fan who has a friend who heard something isn't legit enough, especially when I was with a group of JMU fans after the game who were joking around about Seth transferring. It was an obvious joke with them.

I'm not saying the rumor couldn't be true. I'm just saying a fan of another school coming on here saying he heard something from a friend is a little bit of a stretch.

There is something to be said about spreading rumors on here though. Some things are ok to be said, others aren't. There's a fine line about what should be said publicly and what should be kept private. I'm not saying this crosses that line, but there is a line. This message board is completely, 100% to blame when it comes to how the information of our former basketball coach being released got out. It was posted on here and the athletic department had to scramble to tell the players and staff and everything because they didn't want them to find out on a message board.

This website is great. It's something that I truly believe helps our programs in terms of fan support and the knowledge of our fans. There are times when the line can be crossed though. We've been saying for months that we don't need to speculate on players leaving until there is hard proof or evidence that they will. That was the case with Brolin. That's the case with every other player. Just because Seth is the star player doesn't mean our self-imposed rules shouldn't apply for him as well.

now THIS i didn't know... we fired our coach last year, and I know for a fact players read our board, and weren't happy with what we were saying about him, but...wow.

Congratulations on the team for the job well done this year. The end of the season and even the conference season didn't pan out the way I expected it considering our OOC success but that is the way it goes sometimes with such a young team. Not sure what happened with all of these late season blowouts. Could be some internal problems related to Brolin Floyd transferring. I don't really know. Looking forward to future success with Coach McKay running the show and the players who are coming back and some of the new talant coming into the program.

I hope to God that Seth doesn't transfer. That would be a serious blow to the program far worse that Brolin's departure. Not sure why he would even consider transferring and don't even want to comment or guess why. You guys are right, it is inappropriate to spread rumors based on what "friends say" or whatever since they have no crediblility. A lot of the stuff on the football board that are rumors end up being false and a bunch of bull anyway.

Bear Bryant/B.R. Lakin...they're often confused.

For the record, Mark Twain's grandmother was married here (in town, but not at Liberty Mountain).

Someone probably heard someone else say "B.R." is buried there and thought they said "Bear", and the story grew as it spread from person to person.
