I think maybe cause i am a little bias, but i think i would be goo for the coaches to look up in th NJ/NYC area for some possible players... NYC/NJ players bring a different swagger to the game that I think LU needs  !

You know, one thing that is interesting with all the streetball that goes on up there, St. Johns/Manhattan/Fordham/Other NYC programs are just so/so. There is talent to be had in the area, but our coaches clearly know where to find talent.

A lot of time that swagger brings some other stuff that we don't need.

I would say Seth has a good bit of swagger to him, anyways. And KO has his own version of swagger, too. :P

I think maybe cause i am a little biased, but i think it would be good for the coaches to look up in the New Orleans/gulf coast area for some possible players... Louisiana players bring a different Swaggert to the game that I think LU needs!

not all swagger is bad.... the majority of talent in the NYC area leave cause they want to leave the area.... to be quick to assume that all the players in this are are thugs... and that they will bring the program down.... You have kids up here that want to play down south! players such as jason williams (duke) Brandon Knight (Pitt) Al Harington(high school to nba) Tim Thomas(HS to NBA)... Alex Mcclean was from the NYC are.....the list could go on and on.... I am not saying lest get a pipe-line but lets get some good players...

If there was a good player who wanted to come to LU and Ritchie wanted him here, it wouldn't matter where he's from, we'd get him.

When Coach McKay was hired, he did mention at his first press conference in the grand lobby how close we were to Coney Island. But I don't know if that was a reference to recruiting, amusement parks, or hot dogs. 8)

Maybe he would also recruit over in nearby West Virginia--the home of Jerry West, Jason Williams, Mike D'antoni, Bimbo Coles, Hal Greer, and Mark Chafin. :clapping

The smelly comment should be left to Northern Jerseyers only, as they are the ones that smell. Down in my neck of the woods, Southern New Jersey, we have some of the cleanest beaches and ocean water in the country, as well as beautiful places like Ocean City and Cape May as well as some nice state parks.

I've also asked some Philly area kids why the left the area to play basketball when they could have played in their hometown. They said that alot of them come from bad areas with alot of drama and distractions. The only way to stay focused and to succeed both academically and athletically is to get away. I assume this argument can apply to North Jersey/New York as well.

Delawn Grandison was from this recruiting area. He was a top player, but rarely gets mentioned on FF.

Sneed and Mclean are the two others that quickly come to mind. We brought a kid named Marvin Benjamin in one year from upstate NY, but that didn't work out.

Heck, I'll throw Scar and Kevin Benton in there, because they were right next store.

But all in all, whenever we've recruited up there, we've ended up with mostly quality players with good charactor.

DC/Baltimore is another talent-rich area that should be on our recruiting radar.
