Great 2009 season

Just wanted to get this out there before the tournament begins.
If LU loses tonight or wins the BS Tourney, we have had a great year. We are clearly headed in the right direction, have the right coach at the helm and have a very good core of young players to build around for the coming years. This team has shown the ability to win very close games, beat ACC competition, play hard and hustle. Yes, we have lost a few we shouldn't have as well ie. @G-W and @home against RU thanks to a terrible call by a referee.
As a whole, we have a tendency here as dedicated fans to get too low when times are not going well, or in the heat of the moment and we get too high when things go good or we have a big win.
I guess what I am saying is that if we win or lose tonight, keep your eyes on the big picture and the direction of the over all program. Our best days are ahead of us.

It was a great year. This team somehow managed to win 22 games, with a freshmen backcourt, and a five-gaurd lineup. Now, when's the last time a team went this far starting five gaurds, mostly freshmen?

VMI beats us by 57 pts in two of our last three games and we call it great. We have gone 4th and 3rd in the league. Last year will lose by 18 in BSC semi and now a 20 pt blow out. We win 22 games but played 6 non DI teams. The JB stimulus package of promotion has blinded many.

Look CMII, are we disappointed that we lost tonight...uhh yeah...anyone that says we arent probably was smokin some seriously good reefer this season or something (not to say you yourself said those words but due to your apparent penchant to only come on here when we lose one does have to wonder).
We all would have loved a better ending to this story...if only for Smitty than anything else. He was on probably the worst team we had in recent LU history and then was a part of a team almost entirely made up of freshmen. This team wasnt expected to do a whole lot...then went out and won 22 games, finished third in the conference, beat George Mason (who went to the Final Four just a few years ago), beat Virginia AT Virginia, AND took a ranked Clemson team down to the very end.
Oh and that is absolutely uncalled for to refer to flameshaw as "Mrs JB". (Somebody needs to smack some sense AND manners into you). This team has the potential to do amazing things. If Jesse can be fully healthy next year, and allow Seth to do what he does, which is score and do it in bunches, add in Tra Lee, David Minaya and Joel Van Der Pol and this could be a very magical year in 2009-2010. If you dont want to be a part of the ride you can get off and stay off...
That's all I got to say...

You are kidding right? I'd jump on a class act like McKay in a hurry. OK, you played and beat six non D-1 teams. Compare....G-W, Radford, and UNC-A played and beat 3 non D-1's and VMI played and beat 4 non D-1's. You can't schedule teams from the CAA, SOCON, A-Sun, etc. every time you play non-conference, especially around holiday/exam breaks not only at your own school, but the other schools as well. Of course, I feel G-W has a weaker excuse to not play fewer non D-1's, when you have Wofford, USC-Upstate, Furman, and Davidson all within a hour or so drive of campus.
You didn't match up well with VMI when VMI shot well, who has? Who will? Let VMI stay hot and get in the dance as a 15 seed and run with and hang with a Louisville, Duke, or Kansas. I am far from a VMI fan, but they won't embarrass the Big South if they get in. Radford or UNCA on the other hand could be ugly.
I don't see why Liberty wouldn't be preseason #1 in the fall. High Point has some good young talent and a good coach, UNCA as well, and Radford shouldn't drop off too far.

CMII, I think the Kentucky AD said something bad about your boy RD or whoever it is that JB did wrong to cause you to hate him. Why don't you take your agenda ridden bullcrap to their board and tell them how embarrassing it is to lose to VMI?
Anyways, now that that's out of the way...
We were picked to finish 3rd. We did.
We were supposed to lose in the semi's. We did.
Overall, no disappointments to be had on my part, looking at the whole season.
Future is bright, let's get ready for next season.

Yup. Everything went exactly as it was supposed this season, in my opinion. I'm pleased. Not disappointed, not unexpectedly excited. Just pleased. It was a good solid season and next year should be better than this one.

So it is alright for flameshaw to call me mrs rd but i refer to him/her as mrs jb it is uncalled for. That is the problem..some on here are so committed to hoping it is great that they classify good as great. Again if someone refutes the smoke with facts then the crying starts. Didn't Brad Greenberg get to Radford the same year as Mckay got here. In two years has them in the championship...yum I think I have heard that before. Beat UVA... yum I think we have done that before as well. It was a good 3rd place finish and a semifinal rout so if that is the standard for great then I stand corrected.
