thats horrible how good do you think our chances are to get our offense going without him because how I see it without him ohman and smith never got going curry had to start himself and brolin didnt get going either our offense cant seem to work without him at lease not to their full potential

not to be Debbie-downer but, from what I've seen when he's out of the lineup, I think we're in serious trouble without Jesse

But at the same time, i think we handled it pretty well yesterday without him. I think Sethwebelieve is wrong, Curry was hot the first half, the team was doing great the first half. Not to put all the blame on Ohman, but in the second half he made alot of dumb decisions. Took horrible shots, wasnt aggressive going after the ball, and really let ODU walk all over him and the team. Yeah, Jesse would help on Tuesday night, hes a key player, but I think the major thing that effects the game is which Ohman comes out of the tunnel.

I agree that Ohman can make or break a game but I am talking about getting our offense going on all cylinders the person we have to thank for that happening most of the time is Jesse Sanders. He is our X-factor. It is proven statistitcally that we fall apart without him on the floor with turnovers and points scored. He may not decide whether we win the game all the time but most of the time we need him.

If we were playing any other team, I'd be really worried having Jesse out. However, our team is very good at playing playground ball and running up and down the court. Against VMI you don't really have to start the offense. You just run and shoot.

I agree with SJ...it's actually a good thing that of all games for him to miss it's VMI....Jonny will be the fastest guy on the court against a team that likes to run...not the worst thing in the world!

thats a good point I agree with that but still it does suck to be missing him towards the end of the season and especially going into the tournament not a good time for this injury to occur i saw him in convo and he didnt have the boot on anymore but he was favoring the injured leg significantly.

What's a "free combo upgrade"? Do you get the larger drink for the price of a small one?

good point.

and I'm certainly not the hoops expert here.

It just seems to me that what makes Jesse valuable is that because he is so solid running the point, it enables the Curry, Kyle and Alex to do their thing and not worry about that particular dimension of the game.

when he's gone, everyone else has to step up, and it seems that a part of their individual games always suffers as a result.

just my take on what I've seen so far in those ugly losses. Hoping VMI proves me wrong.

I am actually more worried against VMI. They have a pressure defense, and although Stephene can do wonders with the ball hes also very capable of turning the ball over. Combine that with the reality that KO is going to have to dribble, and we may struggle with turnovers more than you think. The numbers Stephene put up (3 TO in 19 minutes) is deceiving in the sense that Jesse played 37 minutes that game, so Stephene didnt see much of Jesse's role.

Granted its the unpopular opinion but who cares, Ill throw out an idea and see what happens

Did you see how easily we broke VMI's press the last time we played them? Yes, there are going to be more turnovers than normal against VMI, but with Seth, Kyle, Anthony, and Brolin (not even mentioning Johnny) we had plenty of people to beat their press with. Brolin was one of the best guys getting the ball up the floor against VMI.

Besides, Radford showed Saturday that you can turn the ball over vs VMI and still beat them. It will be a bit of a sloppy game if Jesse is out, but we can win it.

Im actually not referring to their press. We havent really had an issue with any press this year that I know of. But I still stand by my hunch. Certainly were going to need bench players to step up but I dont see Johnny replacing Jesse to be any easier against VMI. I think Jesse's value increases in a fast paced game, as well as an important game(to lock up the 2 slot but more importantly avoiding the 4). Johnny is good, but I can see him trying to make too many plays.

And force them to shoot poorly!
