2nd game on the swing through South Carolina. I will be at the game anyone else coming out to this one? Lucky timing with a golf trip to Myrtle Beach. That Radford game just ignites me evne more everytime I think about it. We would be right in the running for 1st place still if that game wasn't stolen from us.

A win Monday night and we can make a run at VMI for 2nd. VMI plays at PC Monday night, and has RU at home Saturday before we play next Tuesday.

Harris and the flat top haircut gave us a lot of problems last time. He has been hot, but we all know VMI inflates everyones numbers. Alex and Dwight had a monster game against them a couple years ago. Either way he will probably get his 20. The gym is really tiny here as well, we drive by it today on the way to Man O War golf course. I never realized just how much bigger Vines is than almost all of the other big south gyms til this year. Probably because I never did anything but listen to the away games this year

Thanks for the Sunday fix, Chris.
I know I have said it what seems like a dozen times, but Harris concerns me greatly. We really need to shoot well or this could be a real trap game for us. The Chants are dangerous enough to do some real damage.

I guess VMI would agree with that. If we can win this one and sweep the beach trip, I will be impressed.

Yeah, Campbell was No. 2 until they moved into their new digs.

I know this is

but we had just under 500 in the stands for our student/faculty game last week- at a middle school. I find it unbelievable that the NCAA allows that.

And what's sad is that they very rarely even fill the place up.

Lang,
the 1996-97 Liberty team actually won 23 games not 21 like your notes say.

SCAR, 21 in the regular season, 2 in the Big South tourney. I wasn't counting Big South tournament games.

I thought that when a team talks about 20 wins in a season they always include the conference tournament games.

I guess you could go either way on that. Not sure there's a hard and fast rule. Limiting it to the regular season certainly shrinks the club a bit. There were several other teams that reached 20 by winning a game or two in the BS tourney.

No letup for CCU tonight
Liberty features nation's top scoring freshman
By Nate Ripke - For The Sun News
Coastal Carolina University's men's basketball team will breathe a sigh of relief following the completion of tonight's Big South matchup against third-place Liberty. After a split with conference leaders Radford and VMI last week, the competition doesn't get any easier against the Flames.
Liberty (19-8, 10-5) will bring national attention to Kimbel Arena thanks in part to the nation's top scoring freshman, Seth Curry. The brother of Davidson All-American Stephen and son of 16-year NBA veteran Dell averages a team-best 20.6 points per game.
Although Stephen's 29.0 ppg is best in the nation, Seth (23rd) is the only freshman in the top 50. The Liberty standout has garnered both ESPN analyst Dick Vitale's Diaper Dandy and Big South Player of the Week honors twice this season.
"I've coached against [Seth's] dad and I've seen Stephen play, and they have all the trademarks of an offensive player," CCU coach Cliff Ellis said. "We all know [Seth] can shoot the ball, but his ability to work off the ball to get shots is what sets him apart from the rest."

Harris with 33 points and 22 rebounds against VMI? did I read that right?? One article says 22 rebounds, another article says 22 assists. Regardless, he concerns me greatly, too. Will there be many from LU going down to see this game?
