Presby? 2-0? Granted they played the two worst teams in the Big South this year. But still!

No, they beat Coastal and High Point...

They only beat Coastal by 3 but they blew out High Point with a 17 point win.

Where is that HPU guy that always posts on here about how great of a recruiting class they had and how they are going to be so good this year?

High Point is 3-5 and 0-2 in the Big South. What's up?

But yes, Winthrop is probably the worst team in the Big South right now. I dunno if it will end that way though...

They're not good right now but they're not Coastal bad.

Coastal = 1-6
Winthrop = 1-7

Winthrop has a worse record.

But Coastal did lose to Coker...

Winthrop just seems to be routinely suffering 20 point losses.

Its still tough to call right now, but I would say at this point Winthrop is the worst team in the Big South. But you are right Jon, Coastal makes a case!

Panfan. He doesn't like us anymore because some of you people were mean to him.

You can't look at just record. Coastal lost to Savannah St and Coker. Winthrop lost to NC State, South Carolina, and Davidson. There's a difference.

Winthrop's only win is over North Greenville. Every other game has been a blow out except for the loss to ECU. And yes they played three very good teams, but they were still blown out. Coastal played Florida State and Cincinnati, two very good teams in their own rights.

And Savannah St is a division 1 school. They are independent, but still division 1 I think. They also only lost to Michigan by 2. So its not like they are a horrible team.

Losing to Coker is terrible. But they have at least kept a few of their losses respectable, as in under 20 points, which is something Winthrop can not seem to do.

I'm not looking at record alone Jon.

Winthrop & Presby should be an interesting match-up because they both have a similair style of play. PC's Alonzo Coleman has an outstanding inside game. He may end up being the top big man in the league this year.

Savannah State just lost to Georgetown by 62...if we're going to go one way and say they aren't "horrible" by losing by two, what does that say when they lose by 62?

and asheville beat us by 28 then lost to UNC by 69. Then we lost to Clemson by 5. Does that mean that Clemson will get smashed by UNC this year? No. They may still get beat pretty badly, but I think Clemson will at least keep the game close. Every team has an off day. Its the beauty of college basketball because it opens up the possibility for upsets.

Point is, just because Georgetown blew them out doesn't mean that their 2 point loss to Michigan is not respectable. Michigan beat Duke, so you can use your logic there if you want to.

I'm just saying that while Coastal's loss to Coker is terrible, atleast they haven't been blown out like Winthrop has in pretty much every game this season.

Winthrop > Coastal.

Winthrop is probably still in the top 5 teams in this conference. They play a brutal OOC and will be ready when the January conference season starts.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but interesting stat:
Liberty is averaging 25.6 three-point attempts a game. Opponents edge the Flames in that category, heaving up 27.8 long range shots a game.
Our defense seems to lure other teams into wanting to shoot the long ball, and we should typically win in a 3 pt contest.

Our zone seems to be working. We haven't let any one player physically dominate us on the inside...and you're right, if we can make each game a shooting contest, we're going to win more often than not.

The exception being at UNCA where they were completely lights out.

also our defense wasn't nearly as aggressive at UNCA as it has been since
