What will be our winning % on the road this year?

I was having a conversation with someone tonight who thought we'll go 50% on the road this year in the BSC...just wanted to see if you guys agree.

I think we'll do a little better then that...but there's no doubt how tough road games are.

last year - 2-5 road conference games
year before - 3-4
year before - 0-8

I think we can go at least .500 this year.

Way to come to the table with some stats...I'd click the rep points if we had them

at least .500? Road games have always been so tough for LU (I think because we have such a great home advantage). If we won out at home (yes I know that's a huge if), we'd be 12-4 in conference. That's good for 1st or 2nd. With every game we're looking better and better when stacked up to the rest of the BSC, but that just seems like a tall order. I guess if we continue to improve at this rate, it's doable.

.500 would be very respectable IMHO.

It would, my prediction was greater than or equal to .500, most likely .500.

When looking at this, I think you've gotta look at the team and the gym they play in and to me, it comes down to three categories:

Arenas
Winthrop
VMI
Gardner-Webb
Radford

These four teams play in gyms similar in size to us, therefore the surroundings are somewhat similar. VMI looks to be very good this year, Gardner-Webb showed us tonight how good they are, and Radford was picked near the top of the league and isn't playing bad. Winthrop is playing terrible. We get Winthrop before their students come back so home court advantage isn't that big of a deal. We play at VMI on a Saturday which means all of the cadets will be there. We play Radford on their senior night. The VMI and Radford games will be especially tough. I think we can beat Winthrop and Gardner-Webb is a toss-up but I'm gonna go optimistic and say we win.

Prediction: 2-2

Gyms
Presbyterian
High Point

These two teams play in gyms that are smaller than us but aren't necessarily the cracker boxes that are the third category. With that being said, neither of these teams is very good in my opinion. I think we can take both of them.

Prediction: 2-0

Cracker Boxes
UNC Asheville
Coastal Carolina
Charleston Southern

We've already lost at Asheville so that's one definite loss. Coastal looks absolutely dreadful so I'm gonna chalk that up as a win. Chuck South is tough to call. It's a tough place to play and they've got a good team. Just because I went optimistic earlier, I'm gonna go pessimistic here and chalk it up as a loss.

Prediction: 1-2

That would have us going 5-3 on the road. You could change up the arena to 1-3 and cracker box to 2-1 and I wouldn't be surprised. At the same time, I could see us dropping another game somewhere and only going 4-4 overall.

The question, to me at least, is how many home games do we lose in conference?

Radford is actually playing in a cracker box for the time being. I don't think they'll have the circus tent repaired by the time we go there.

We're the last game of the season for them. The plan is to be back in Dedmond by then.
