I was wrong and I'm sorry

I was the biggest Liberty detractor after the UNC Asheville loss. After tonight's win against UVA? Let me be the first to say that I was premature in my assessment. I am sorry for the extra-strong glass of haterade I drank. I am, and always will be, a Liberty supporter, and I am sorry for letting my emotions get the best of me last week. I don't want to sound like I'm jumping on the bandwagon now that we've won a big game, but... man. I'm going to find a good recipe for crow.

I have a feeling this is going to be a crazy season of ultra highs and rock bottom lows until the team gels. You were far from the only one hard on the team this past week. But thanks for manning up and owning it.

That was a first class mea culpa Ed, but we all need to be prepared to have our patience tested again by this team.

Sly is right. Expect more great wins and some bad losses. That's just the way is works with a bunch of young guys. Enjoy it now though!

I was thinking the same thing
I am sure there will be games where we are frustrated once again and all the haters will come out strong...
It is such a young group, it is to be expected
props to you dantes for saying you were wrong, its too bad more people can't be like that on this board

I know TBGBG will be here, although I didn't expect him here last night. They didn't get home til 12:15 and I know a few of them were planning on doing some stuff. If he's not here in a few days, then say something.

Its the thing Ive said to TTL for a while.
Were gonna win games we should and lose games we shouldnt. On top of the new group of freshman we also have an inconsistent style of play, so if were on we can beat alot of teams. But if were not, another 30 point thrashing is coming.

The 30 point thrashing to UNCA was not just a question of not being "on". It was a horrible all-around performance. Good shooting made a big difference last night, but there were other things the guys improved on as well. I don't buy the idea that any time this team is not red hot from 3 they are going to get blown out. UVA has plenty of their own issues, but the fact is they had some hot perimeter shooting too, and we scored as many points in the paint as they did. That is not something many (including me) would have predicted.

I think we were a completely different team last night than we were a week ago at Asheville. We actually attacked the basket and we had players post up, even though they were guards. Smitty was off from 3 so he changed his game and posted up and still put up 20+ points! We grabbed rebounds and even played a little bit of defense. Kyle didn't try to be a super star, he just got open and took 3's. That's his game and he finally figured that out.
If we keep on playing like this, we can beat almost anybody...
