Time now to shift gears bigtime from an overmatched NAIA opponent to a Big South rival in Asheville. And interestingly enough our first opponent plays the Bulldogs Sunday afternoon.

Could this possibly be the earliest conference game in NCAA basketball history?

Asheville plays Montreat on Sunday afternoon. It wil be interesting to see if they play better against them than we did.

This could turn out to be a huge game later in the season if we could somehow squeak it out.

This should be fun. UNCA lost a ton of talent and experience...and Eddie does not have the best track record of success with a young team like they have. Based on what I saw Friday from us...I could see us win by 8-11 points.

Interesting that UNCA is playing Montreat today. I wouldn't put much stock in comparing the victory margins though.

This will be my first all-day college bball event since I started working from home. I was excited about March, but now I've got this too.

Working from home on days like that is great! I have done it a ton of times but my latest manager doesn't give laptops to Contractors even though I have worked for this group 2 times. I have my own laptop of course but without access to the network I can't work remotely. I may just stay home or come home early on Tuesday though. I want to see this game.

why is the game at 2PM on a Tuesday. Did I miss the idea behind this.

The game is part of ESPN's 24 hours of college hoops coverage. That is why the big south moved this game up so early in the season.

The game was at 7 until George got hurt and had surgery if I remember correctly. I will be watching by either ESPN 360 or IPTV in my office.

Does anyone else have the feeling that Seth is just going to go off on his first national appearance?

Article from the Asheville paper:
ASHEVILLE – ESPN might have been expecting 7-foot-9 Kenny George when the sports network talked to UNC Asheville about scheduling today's nationally televised basketball game against Liberty — part of its 24 Hours of Hoops programming.
Instead, viewers will watch a very young — but certainly athletic — Bulldogs team take on Big South Conference foe Liberty in the type of game Asheville coach Eddie Biedenbach likens to a tournament championship.

UNCA with out George looks like a bottom two team with Coastal. This is one we need to get!

After the first game you'd also have to throw High Point in the mix at the bottom as well. Although it's still very early.

One more game to go! Here's hoping to an Iowa/KU blowout. I'll be cursing the TV if the end of a women's game gets in the way of the start of our game.
