Now that we've seen them

I know Montreat is Montreat but based on the only real game this team has ever played, did they meet, exceed or fall short of your off season expectations?

I said expectations so many times the word has lost all meaning.

They were about what I would expect collectively. There is still a ton of room for improvement.

They exceeded mine. Although I expected a win, I really didn't expect to see a lot of potential in ALL of our players. I had started to ground myself based on things I had been hearing but there were so many guys that you can tell are going to be so good. Sanders has legit handles and penetration capabilities, McMasters was hustling despite all of those "rumors" about his work ethic, Floyd was able to start at the 5 and be effective yet was knocking down 3s and brought the ball up the court a few times.

My expectations were exceeded.
They looked great and I see no reason they can't compete with anyone if they play decent defense and don't all have an off night shooting the ball. Curry is the real deal and plays with a calmness rarely seen in Freshman.

It's hard to say as a group that they exceeded my expectations, they met them collectively. However, Brolin exceeded mine with his outside shooting. I knew he was going to be a good slasher, but was extremely delighted to see him stroking it.

Brolin impressed me as well. I thought he was more of an inside guy, but he was drainin some 3's.
Also, I didn't know Jesse was such a good ball handler.

Brolin is going to be very tough for teams to handle...he is so strong, so he can beat you down low...and he is quick and can beat people off the dribble, and he can shoot...can't complain about that...

Expectations met. A 20 point win over that team is not impressive in and of itself, but I saw a lot to like.

I was very impressed with our shooting as a team. I think we are going to be lights out all season long. I think we showed we can also get to the basket. The only way I was disappointed was that we gave up that many points to MONTREAT and that we did not throw any alleys. I expected that to be a good thing for us this year. But hey, as long as we are winning I am okay with it.

They exceeded mine. Coach is right, though...can they play serious defense (as mentioned in one of his interviews). A higher caliber opponent will test them but WOW are those guys athletic and can play ball.

Who voted that they fell short of their expectations? Why? Don't want to bash on you, just wondering.

they exceeded mine simply because i had none. i was reserving judgement until i saw them, and i like what i saw. didn't know brolin had an outside shot, seth is amazing, jesse can handle the ball and drive pretty well, he just needs better judgement on dishing/shooting on the drive. carter was about what i expected. he needs some work, but has potential. i thought Anthony was pretty quiet, but i expect him to have some breakout games this year. kyle was kyle, could have erased a few turnovers if he wasn't trying to show off but whatever. i just don't like his attitude
