I think we only have the 2 verbals so far (Kenny Onyechi and Joel Vander Pol). It would be nice to go ahead and get them to sign early. I also believe these are our only 2 schollys available and that is IF we get our 2 schollys back for next year.

I know we talk about this all the time, but I really don't get our punishment. It's 2 scholarships. That much I know. I thought we planned to take the punishment this upcoming season, which was doing so early. But then we got David Minaya. Which is leaves only 1 punishment being taken with 1 needing to be taken next year. Is this not correct?

The way I understand it is we took an early punishment of one last year, meaning we only have a penalty of 1 this year, but of course I could be wrong.

You're right, Manson. LU took a voluntary one scholly hit last season.

One last year, one this year, and with Smitty graduating, unless we get another unexpected penalty we will have 2 scholarships to offer to Onyechi and Vander Pol.

this is a nice signing for us. ESPN graded him an 80. I believe that is what Seth and Carter were...

scout.com gave both of them 2 stars. I have no idea about both of them, that's just what they ranked em.
How good are they?

I've read up on this Vander Pol Kid and he seems to be the real deal. Actually playing at a high level in Florida. I think he's a good pick up. But we'll just have to wait and see...

It's not a "they." It's a "he."

At all. Sorry for not making that clearer in the first post. I thought by saying we weren't waiting on him that it got the point across. That's my bad.

I think he's implying that he's highly sought after because he's from houston.

I would say it is more likely Sly is indicating that Mr. Onyechi will be matriculating at one of the greater Houston areas many fine institutions of higher learning.

Carter was an 87 I think, Seth less.
Either way, I wouldnt trust those ESPN rankings for crap, unless theyre top notch people.
