Since some still seem to be in the dark here, McKay and those close to the program remain high on Seth.
BTW, Seth is now a lanky 6-3 and growing.

Wow, Andy Katz doesn't normally make it outside of New England this time of year. Color me surprised he even knew we existed.

I really hate this much pressure being put on a freshman. Everyone knows he's going to be good, but I hate having people expecting him to be great from day one.

Andy did much of his early work on the West Coast in Fresno and Albquerque, so he and McKay have known each other for a long time. It doesn't surprise me at all that the two keep in touch. That's one advantage of Liberty having a coach with a nationally known name.

Some people can handle expectations others have for them. Winners thrive under them. Losers wilt and die under them.

I was on vacation. Do you realize that you have almost twice as many posts as I do?

I forget not everyone takes vacation in the summer.
And no I didn't know that. So many of my posts come from the mobile site that I don't look at the post count anymore.

Ill tell you what... I saw him when he came on his visit and saw him the last couple days and he has gotten substantially taller since he got here... I was impressed, I hope he's great!!

The only expectations he needs to live up to are those of McKay's.

Ever since big brother blew up, he's had no chance of flying under the radar. People are going to demand a lot out of him quickly..

Here's a link to Steph's season stats in his freshman year:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/ga ... &year=2007
He was very inconsistent the first half of the year scoring and shooting, but once he hit conference play he was putting up numbers like he did his whole sophomore season.

The only problem with all the pressure and the hype is that people need to remember what jcmanson just said about his brother, and that if he sucks it up the first few games wait until the end of his four years to talk bad about him.

I didn’t exactly say he sucked it up the first few games; he did score 32 in his 2nd collegiate game which was at Michigan. He was just inconsistent as in a few games later he was 2-9 shooting with 9 points.

Although he didn't say he expected that this year.

Why wouldn't he? This is clearly a down year for the conference, he has the preseason POY, along with an incoming class that is ranked 48th in the nation.
The guy isn't gonna go around making bold predictions and put a big target on his back, but he's gotta like his chances, given the situation that he finds himself in.

Yes, LU can win it this year. It's wide open. We have enough pieces in place
to make a serious run at this thing, especially with no clear-cut favorite or
dominating team in the mix this year.
We've got the top player in Smith, a highly regarded incoming class, and
a quality coaching staff.
