So then how are you different for looking at him positively before you even see him and not giving anything else a chance?

I give everything else a chance AFTER they have seen time on the court. As fans we should all at least give them the benefit of the doubt until then.

I'm curious as to why you believe its tough. (Or at least tougher than usual, thus necessitating your pronouncement of it.)

Is it just because it's unconventional?

Just wanted to p iss you off.
The positions listed on the starting lineup have always been what the player was listed as on the team roster. If we were to start the small lineup TBGBG says we will, it would be 4 guards and a forward. Carter is the only player listed as a center on our roster.

I don't know what sources are being trusted to say that the starting lineup has been decided already, but I'm sure it didn't come from our coaching staff. We know that Smitty is going to start, and I don't doubt that promises were made to Curry, which is nothing unusual in college basketball recruiting. Beyond that I highly doubt any decisions have been made. What would they be based on, watching pickup games they aren't supposed to be at secretly through a hole in a wall? Even with an experienced team, decisions on who will start and play often aren't made until well into the pre-conference schedule.
It may not be the official starting line up yet. He didn't announce anything but that's what he has been running in practice. Coach is high on three players right now. Ohman (like he has always been, for whatever reason), Floyd, and Baker (he brought Baker to Africa for the athletes in action with him. He could have chose anyone else on the team but he chose Tyler). I think these three will start for us. The next obvious choices to start are Smitty because he's a senior and a beast and Seth Curry because he is good and because he is basically our only option at point besides Sanders.

I think I know what youre asking, but I think that way because it doesnt work often on a large scale. VMI played Willie Bell at the 5 and hes a 3 and they havent been close to making the dance.

Does that answer your question? Im kinda confused as to what youre asking. I just think its tougher than normal because most the teams we play do play offensive sets and if we have a mismatch from the jump it makes it tough. Im all about unconventional... if it works. I dont know how UNC does it but they always have the best team and find a way to suck (sorry UNC fans)

Correction: There has been no practice... You gotta watch out... the NCAA reads FlameFans

You just proved you don’t know what you’re talking about. HE hasn’t been running anything in practice since there’s been no practice.
Coach is high on three players right now.
I didn’t realize you and Coach were so close.

Only on FlameFans can we argue so vociferously over a topic like this one.

How do you make the NCAA tourney from the Big South? Win the conference tourney. They did make the finals after beating us in the 1st round 2 years ago. I’d say that’s a lot closer than we’ve been.

And he gets a fair shake, if you think he should start then call McKay
I'm not saying he should start, that's McKay's decision. I do question you and RF because you both were told BEFORE you had seen him that made you question his determination, work ethic, etc. Therefore, he hasn't gotten a fair shake from the fan base because people will believe you and others. I'm reserving my judgement on Carter and all the freshman until they get on the court, and until then I hope for the best.
now your just being a turd. I told you i read ONLINE the things about carter from his HS peers. I wasn't told anything, it was an abundance of internet chatter that wasn't very positve and i PMED you to clarify that....so get your facts straight.

My facts are straight. Yeah, that’s where you got your info, but not TBGB. Ask him where he got his from. You still “were told before you had seen him” info which made you question his work ethic whether it’s from an internet forum or another person you were still told/read it. Am I right?

Whatever, I don’t know why we’re arguing over who’s been closest to the big dance. Hopefully we will actually get there before they do. That’s still the goal isn’t it?

Or you can ask me which I think I told you before. Coaches and the same thing RF read.

No your wrong.....AGAIN. I looked up his facebook profile and saw that he was dreading the first day of practice. Yes that made me question a kids work ethic and whether or not he truly is excited to be here. Only because that statement directly matched other statements i had read about him.

In a PM I got from you dated Feb 15:
Im Pming you this because i obviously can't confirm it. However ive read multiple posts online from people who say McMasters has some attitude and work ethic issues. I pray its not true or he leaves them in HS, but its never good to hear that from more than few people.
From then on, you looked for negative stuff from him rather than positive.

His HS career was over by that point...and what other negatives did i bring to the table after that? What i supposed to stalk him for positives?

A kid doesn't want to go to practice once and all the sudden he has a work ethic problem? Come on. If he's still dragging around November, then we can talk about his ethic and attitude.

To judge his entire attitude based upon what an 18-year old kid puts on Facebook is stretching it.
