I think we can cross Strickland off the list. Of those 3 I'd say Comar is the most likely since he's a bball ops guy and not neccisarily a coach. Although I think Jirsa was at Marshall. Maybe he wants to go back to this area.

From what I heard through the grapevine, he comes from the NAIA ranks but I do not know his name....so I am out of clues. hopefully that will narrow it down

I really really hope it's not an NAIA coach.

No one hires an assistant coach for this reason. You don't need a name on your staff for this. Big schools come calling on the mid's and low's deep into the summer and early Fall.

I agree, JK37. I was just stating one of the benefits of having a coach with Willis' connections on the staff.

And of course, those games would be more likely to be played in TEXAS!!

Glad somebody was catching my drift. More specifically a certain city in Texas.

Yea, Jirsha was at Marshall sometime after Billy Donovan left and took the Florida job. He bombed there as a head coach, but he might make a good assistant.

If your previous clues were accurate, that profile matches everything. Circle gets the square.

He only played 2 years in college. Then he transferred and coached during his undergraduate. That's weird.

Anybody heard anything about the new coach? Sure is getting late to not have heard anything substantial.

That's right. I had been told that they had the guy lined up and were waiting until July to hire him. Well, here we are. No announcement.

Well, we know who our new coach is:

Liberty Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ritchie McKay has announced that Kyle Getter has joined the Flames coaching staff, filling the vacancy left by Dale Layer’s departure for Marquette.

Getter comes to Liberty Mountain from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio, where he was the top assistant coach. Spending one season at Walsh, Getter helped the Cavaliers to a 26-5 record and a second-round appearance in the NAIA Division II National Tournament. Getter was also the Cavaliers’ men’s golf coach.

Pretty decent pedigree on this guy considering his last stop was NAIA.

Also, Dane Cook did not invent the word "snarky".

Can't say I am overwhelmed, but will have to trust RM until he gives us reason not to.

Ritchie hasn't made many wrong moves up until this point so I am not going to question him now.

Welcome to the LU family, Kyle.

I am shocked it took that long for a Thundering Herd reference.

Kind of young looking. On paper it seems to be a step down from Dale Layer but hopefull he will work out well and he will fit in to the teams philosophies.

I'm not sure a step laterally was a possibility, let alone a step up.

We were VERY fortunate to have Coach Layer on our staff as an assistant even for just a year.
