I don't approve of any shots being taken at any of our players. It is OK to talk about performances but not to get personal about off the court issues. That is stepping over the line IMHO.

I understand what you are saying, and you seem to be smarter than most of the guys on here that post ridiculous things. I understand Kyle is a shooter, and he is not going to be on every game, but you don't pull a good shooter just because he started slow. The same thing could be said of Anthony Smith. He is either on fire or ice cold, but you don't pull him out of a game because you never know when he will go off. In addition, I think Kyle does the little things that a lot of casual fans do not notice. He takes more charges than anyone else on the team. He gets on the floor and picks up loose balls. He even gets more blocks than you would expect him to. Remember the ECU game when he got a block and rebound to save the game for us. I also understand what you are saying about him being passionate. However, no one on the team resents Kyle for this, and you need that one guy on a team that will bring that fire every night even if it is a bit too much some times. I would take his attitude over T.J. Anthony or Alex. T.J. Those three have some attitude problems that have hurt the team on the court, especially at Radford. So, I think he is plenty worth the twenty minutes he gets, and he is not even costing this school a scholarship. Kyle is doing this for free, while Russell, Armon, Nathan, and Justin are on full rides and not doing much if anything at all.

4. I'm going to take a wild guess that the only student athlete you have spent time with is KO because you obviously don't think very highly of any of the other guys on the team. Alex smitty and TJ express their emotions differently on the court than KO. those three are some really nice guys if you get to know them. Smitty acts like he doesn't care because he doesn't show very much emotion at all. TJ looks like he plays with a chip on his shoulder cause he does. the kid played in the ACC with some of the best. and Alex gets excited because does well and it pumps him up and helps him do well when he gets himself pumped up.
5. Coaching 101. shooter going cold? pull him and let him calm down for a couple of min. then send him back out if he's still cold. sit him longer and encourage him. oh and guess what RM does? he sits the cold shooters. lets them calm down and then sends them back out.
6. I like Kyle i really do. but the kid needs to remember where he came from. he came from the courts at Lahaye where he was shooting really well for a college intramural team my freshman year, and yes i played him a few times. he needs to lose the cocky attitude as do all the players in college basketball who get to big for their britches and play the game they love to play.

ok now you crossed the line. one i said nothing bad about kyle as a person. and no i'm not bitter because he"bagged" on me in intramurals. i suck at basketball gave it up that year and played the sport i'm good at. soccer. Kyle is a nice guy and i never claimed to know him on more than an aquaintence level. other guys on the team yes i know them strictly because i see them not only in class but outside of school all the time too. Here's my opinion on this whole thing since I have people IMing me asking me to chime in:

I've had class with Kyle. I really like the kid. At the beginning of the season, he was easily my favorite player.

However, in the first conference game of the year, at UNC Asheville, I saw something change. He tried to take people off the dribble, and succeeded. I had no problem with him doing that. However, at the end of the play, instead of just going up strong, trying to get the lay-up and a foul, he was trying to reverse everything mid-air, make playground type passes, or reverse the lay-up and make some special play. Had he just went strong to the hole, he would've been fouled and been able to knock down the free throws.

Secondly, in that game, whenever we came back and tied it, Kyle started yelling at the Asheville students antagonizing them and displaying the cocky behavior people on here have posted about. The difference in what he did, and what Alex does is Kyle's was directed towards the other team's fans. I have never seen Alex do that. Alex generally just yells towards the Liberty fans. When Kyle lets out emotions at home, it's towards our fans, and I have no problem with that. It's purposely antagonizing the opposing team's fans that I have a problem with.

Lastly is the defense. Yes, Kyle plays hard and goes for every loose ball possible, tries to make the hustle play, and all of that. With that being said, there are times, and it was evidenced last night, where he tries too late to make the hustle play. On a breakaway lay-up, he tries to foul the player to stop him from getting the shot off, but he's a step or two too late and fouls them after the ball's already been released. The same can be said on loose balls at times, where a player is already on the floor getting possession of the ball and Kyle comes diving in trying to get in from him. There's normally been one or two of those type of plays in the past month or so that has really contributed to Kyle getting in foul trouble.

Kyle Ohman definitely has the talent to play in this league. He has the heart to play here too. He's just got to play within himself, not try to make the highlight shot or block, and just play his game. There are players he can beat off the dribble. Sometimes, instead of trying to make the amazing no look pass, a simple pull up jumper would be better, or a lay-up, or something of that nature. I'd much rather see that from Kyle than the dump off passes and quick kick-out passes that always seem to end up a turnover.

Im not going to respond to the rest of the crap that has dribbled out of your mouth, but i will say this. When it comes to a shooter going cold, your right, 100% no if ands or buts about it. Kyle is wayyyy cockier than all 3 of those guys. TeeJay talks to me every day, He responds very well to criticism. I tell him things like that all of the time and he takes it well and respects what I have to say so im sure he respects what the coaches say too, So Enough with that crap. I understand you like T.J., and I don't care that he talks to you during the day. I was talking about his attitude and body language when he gets pulled out of the game or when the coach tries to talk to him. You are right T.J. does have a lot of assists, but he also has a ton of turnovers which accounts for his terrible decisions. His assist turnover ratio is not very good. I am also sure you remember the way Alex completely freaked out and shut down during the Radford game. I don't think you can honestly disagree with my assessment of T.J. and Alex's actions.

TJ looks like he plays with a chip on his shoulder cause he does. the kid played in the ACC with some of the best. and Alex gets excited because does well and it pumps him up and helps him do well when he gets himself pumped up.
5. Coaching 101. shooter going cold? pull him and let him calm down for a couple of min. then send him back out if he's still cold. sit him longer and encourage him. oh and guess what RM does? he sits the cold shooters. lets them calm down and then sends them back out.
6. I like Kyle i really do. but the kid needs to remember where he came from. he came from the courts at Lahaye where he was shooting really well for a college intramural team my freshman year, and yes i played him a few times. he needs to lose the cocky attitude as do all the players in college basketball who get to big for their britches and play the game they love to play.

First of all I have had hung out with many players on the team. They are all nice guys off the court. However, that is not true on the court. If you are going to be critical of Kyle then you have to be critical of the others. T.J. does not respond positively to any criticism, and acts like he could not care less what the coach has to say. He makes stupid passes and decisions, but gets mad at everyone other than himself. Ace cries about every call as I mentioned before, and reacts to his big plays the same way Kyle does. Kyle is not cockier than any of those three guys, and honestly what is wrong with being cocky. J.J. was cocky, M.J. was cocky, Magic was cocky, and I think it worked out well for them. Apparently your coaching advice came from Randy Dunton. You let a shooter shoot through his cold streak and you don't pull him out. Pulling him out only limits his confidence and shows a lack of faith by the coach. I understand you are probably one of the kids who got t bagged by Kyle in intramurals, but you just need to let that go. The flames fan club likes to think the players love them and they have a close relationship with the players. However, I have personally heard from the players that they think most of you are idiots. Just be objective with your critcisms. Thats all.

Im not going to respond to the rest of the crap that has dribbled out of your mouth, but i will say this. When it comes to a shooter going cold, your right, 100% no if ands or buts about it. Kyle is wayyyy cockier than all 3 of those guys. TeeJay talks to me every day, He responds very well to criticism. I tell him things like that all of the time and he takes it well and respects what I have to say so im sure he respects what the coaches say too, So Enough with that crap. And Yes TeeJay makes terrible decisions, Thats why hes one of the top in the nation with assists...

Here's my opinion on this whole thing since I have people IMing me asking me to chime in:

I've had class with Kyle. I really like the kid. At the beginning of the season, he was easily my favorite player.

However, in the first conference game of the year, at UNC Asheville, I saw something change. He tried to take people off the dribble, and succeeded. I had no problem with him doing that. However, at the end of the play, instead of just going up strong, trying to get the lay-up and a foul, he was trying to reverse everything mid-air, make playground type passes, or reverse the lay-up and make some special play. Had he just went strong to the hole, he would've been fouled and been able to knock down the free throws.

Secondly, in that game, whenever we came back and tied it, Kyle started yelling at the Asheville students antagonizing them and displaying the cocky behavior people on here have posted about. The difference in what he did, and what Alex does is Kyle's was directed towards the other team's fans. I have never seen Alex do that. Alex generally just yells towards the Liberty fans. When Kyle lets out emotions at home, it's towards our fans, and I have no problem with that. It's purposely antagonizing the opposing team's fans that I have a problem with.

Lastly is the defense. Yes, Kyle plays hard and goes for every loose ball possible, tries to make the hustle play, and all of that. With that being said, there are times, and it was evidenced last night, where he tries too late to make the hustle play. On a breakaway lay-up, he tries to foul the player to stop him from getting the shot off, but he's a step or two too late and fouls them after the ball's already been released. The same can be said on loose balls at times, where a player is already on the floor getting possession of the ball and Kyle comes diving in trying to get in from him. There's normally been one or two of those type of plays in the past month or so that has really contributed to Kyle getting in foul trouble.

Kyle Ohman definitely has the talent to play in this league. He has the heart to play here too. He's just got to play within himself, not try to make the highlight shot or block, and just play his game. There are players he can beat off the dribble. Sometimes, instead of trying to make the amazing no look pass, a simple pull up jumper would be better, or a lay-up, or something of that nature. I'd much rather see that from Kyle than the dump off passes and quick kick-out passes that always seem to end up a turnover.

Let's remember that Kyle is basically a freshman, and for basically being a freshman he has had a heck of a year.
