Smitty showing up on D tonight, gets the steal to save them from a perfect opprotunity to score and make this too close for comfort.

Flames win 68-61

Feels like we kinda had a let down near the end of the game, but overall, we had a respectable game.

Kyle showed up big for us.

We win 68-61. That shot that stuck on the rim was the turning point to prevent them coming back. Caught a break there. Need to play better to beat George Mason. Looked a little rusty down the stretch.

It's weird how he can go without being involved in the offense for long stretches like that.

This isn't the first time.

I would like to think of that as an "off game" for us coming back from the long break. I did not like our play at all in the last 10 minutes. Very sloppy and Campbell is not a good team. Caught 2 huge breaks with the tech on the ball slamming and the shot that got stuck on the rim which gave us possesion and a fresh shot clock. We can give George Mason a good game and maybe win but we must play better than that.

Fumble, that's Kelly Deyo, who was on Notre Dame's WBB national championship team a few years ago; more recently, she has been the LU women's assistant basketball coach, until she had a baby and is mostly a stay at home mom now. She was also going to be the LU football team's sideline reporter, until she was briefly replaced by SCAR. Her husband is also an assistant coach of the women's team.

After being at the game, Mrs. Cider and I came home to watch it again on MASN's Scar-vision. His best one-liner was something about how the "Campbell Camels got over the hump." Yes, he really said it. :nod

Good to see several Flame Fans hanging out at the game together--Smooth, Mrs. Scar, HMO, & GMTM--but I was too far away to see if they were eating any of Mrs. Scar's cookies, though.

The paper said we only had 1,009 people in attendance, but the crowd looked larger than that to me.

HPU is playing poorly right now but what I saw in the LU/CU game was excruciatingly bad. I watched the whole game hoping to get afeel for where HPU was at this time in the season. What I saw was bad basketball which didn't help my purpose for watching. Maybe both teams were rusty from the holiday.

It wasn't pretty, but we won, and that's all that matters.

Anyone hear Scar say "giving him the business." They showed his ETSU dunk! He was much smaller back then.

I think rust and playing in front of close family & friends combined for a flat performance last night, panfan01.

Hopefully we aren't as flat at the Patriot Center Sunday. The level of competition is certainly much higher with less room for error.

Yea, heard that; he also twice referred to the Camels getting "over the hump" and made a Facebook reference, but sadly no mention of the FF. :(

the baby picked a great time to nap and I managed to see the whole game- well, most of it.

Tuned in "early" at 7:20 and saw the game had aleady started  stupid TV listings.

SCAR and company sounded SMOOOOOOOTH. Great job there, brother. Would love to see you on a lot more MASN telecasts- hopefully this gets your name and talent out there. No reason GMU, Richmond, etc couldn't use you. Very evenhanded commentary- never over excited, never at a loss for words 8)

great footage of "THE DUNK" for all you non-believers, and loved seeing the old rubber floor again. You guys have NO idea how crazy loud Liberty Gym used to get. True home court advantage.

Have to agree w/ the Texan on the poor (let's be honest) performance- hopefully just flat over the break.

We just got killed off the glass most of the time, though we did rebound well on occasion so the stats ended up relatively close.

Overall, not a good game - esp since these guys lost to RadfUrd AND CCU, but I suppose a win is a win.

thought TeeJay played pretty well, actually (since I tend to rag on him) and ACE is just very good. Like his stuff. A Smith could turn it up a notch, but Ohman really goes all out. Great effort on his part, I thought. Coah did a nice job keeping everyone cool, calm and collected.

We'll need more on Sunday to get a "W" though.

Medic & Scar, I taped the whole game, but somehow missed seeing the SCAR dunk against ETSU. At about what minute mark of which half did they show that? I'd love to go back and see it.

middle to the end of the first half, I believe- you'll recognize the grainy footage, bad 80's hair, and GAP clothing.

McLean’s 22 Points Lead Liberty to Victory

Kyle Ohman chipped in 17 points in the Flames' victory over Campbell on Friday.

Liberty held on in the end to defeat the Campbell Fighting Camels, 68-61, Friday evening, inside the Vines Center.

The Camels, who are now winless in four all-time visits to the Vines Center, fall to 4-7 on the season. Liberty obtained revenge for its 73-70 setback to Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C., on Dec. 15. The victory moves the Flames’ record back to .500 at 6-6.

Found it--they showed SCAR's steal and dunk with 2:05 left in the first half of the Campbell game. Super, if you could put that dunk on U-Tube, Scar might forgive you for locking him out of his house, and you would be his BFF.

The dunk highlight was a total surprise. Ray Jones asked them to find something on me since the game notes had Alex McLean passing me recently on the all time scoring list. Not only did they find tape but Joe Barry actually found the dunk. He said he had to go through reems and reems of tape to get one highlight of my career  . I love the hair though. I can't wait to see it on the DVR when I get back to Richmond on Monday. We are in Northern VA hanging out today then we will go see the Flames at the Patriot center on Sunday....I can't believe no one caught my cigarette reference. Right before half time when Ohman hit his buzzer beater and 4th 3 pointer, I said "Smoke em if you got em, Ohman is lighting up the Camels" or something to that effect. The game was ugly though. Coach McKay asked me after the game, if I liked their ugly win. It was not pretty that's for sure. I was surprised that Alex didn't score a lot during the last 10 minutes of the game. Rell hit a big 3 and it was him who had Rodriguez bottled up most of the night. However it was Anthony Smith that came up with the big steal down the stretch. Liberty will have to play better on Sunday to even compete with Mason. Don't forget to watch it if you guys don't get to come up to NOVA to watch in person. MASN at 5:30 PM.

If anyone DVR'd the game last night and is able to get the file off, is there any chance I can get it from you? I wanna make highlight videos of basketball but don't have the same access to the games as I did with football.
