We have no chemistry because we have new players starting every year (or every semester with Brew). And yes every team has new players come into the program, but do they start? Look at the numbers of Russ and Rel, they have actually gotten less productive the longer they have been here! What does that tell you about how our program develops players? Dunton is a "players coach", who for some reason can't seem to keep players here. Larry is a good scorer who we expect to be a leader, but just isn't. Brew would be a scary 2 or even 3 in the BSC, but we put him at the point...let's not even talk about Hubbard. I would go so far as to say that if you started Russ at the 5, Mclean at the 4, Smith at the 3, Blair at the 2, and Holland (or Risher...oh wait...nvm) at the 1, with Rel, Brew, Jenkins and Baker seeing significant minutes off the bench, we would be the second best team in the bsc! (this is going back in time and developing all these players properly) I can't wait til next year when we bring in a NEW SUPERSTAR.....and lose 32452 consecutive road games since we have no leaders or chemistry...it's gonna be sweet...

Russ has absolutely no confidence whatsoever and that's not all his fault.

I don't say this in a degrading sense, but how many games have you been able to attend? It's one thing to evaluate the players through the box score, etc., and it's a completely different thing seeing them play in person.
I've been to every home game except for two, and I haven't gone to any away games...I know you mean well SJ...I agree with you almost in everything you have ever said on here, but whenever I add a little bit more that may be slightly off from what you think it seems as if you shoot it down pretty quickly because you are a "dedicated fan"...you know your stuff I know that, but I have followed this team, and I have followed past teams, granted for away games I have to go off of what I hear and box scores, but for the games I have been to I believe what I am saying is true

Brew does do a lot of good things, but has he improved this team like a bunch of people out there were saying he would?? no he hasn't...I am not putting all the blame on him either, but I wish that the people that said all this stuff about him and how much the team will improve would come on here and admit they were wrong...but I don't see that happening anytime soon

I wasn't trying to put you down. I just know that you had said you had to work for a lot of games and missed them, so I thought you hadn't been able to go to many.

there were 2 home games I couldn't go to and they were both pretty close to each other...anyways, I know you mean well, and I don't think you were being a jerk or anything, anyways...I think this whole losing thing is getting to all of us...

You have to remember that even though RD has been here a few years, the assistants who have been recruiting have only been not even 2 full seasons. I think the last 2 classes have been improvements, thus new starters. Maybe whomever recruited Russ and Rell had no business recruiting them to play at this level? I would say that Alex, Brew, TJ, and maybe Lamont and BJ are very good recruits. Barring any departures, I think next year's team is much stronger on paper than this year. JUST M.O.

Looking at the 1st half play by play on Brew. He came in at 14:01 when we were down 3. He took 1 shot and had no turnovers until he was subbed out with 10:59 left and now down 13. He re-entered at 5:07 and down 14. In the last 5:07, he became more assertive 1 put back off his own miss, 1 jerk't, 2/3 FT, 2 Def rebs, and 1 TO. We were only down 3. When he is more assertive he will cause defenses to pay more attention and leave opportunities for others. He is not perfect, but he did help get us back in the game. His poor shooting could be affected by his sore jabbing hand, I mean shooting hand.

Hmmm or maybe they were both recruited by other programs and now they wish they had gone there....

Perhaps it's the fact that if RD would have had Dwight Howard at LU he would have ruined him by putting him at the 1...

Possibly he has never been able to develop his players and he never will...

Maybe the same people who recruited them also recruited Dees and Blair....

So I am thinking it has nothing to do with the recruiters. Leary was a great recruiter.

Gosh, you're so on top of the ball. I think Anthony Smith has gotten progressively worse every year. Oh and Tyler Baker has not improved since the beginning of the year. Dees was definatly not a more complete player his 2nd year. If RD had not been all over him to D up you'd have said he was playing favorites and letting him go because he's one of our better players. And if Dwight Howard agreed to come to Liberty over some other place under the condition that he could play PG I think you would have crusified Dunton yourself for telling him to buzz off. Your illogical thinking knows no bounds.

TB... 2 min... 2 MIN... He doesnt deserve 30, or 20, or 15 but at least 10,
Brew played well,
Larry was taking good shots (which is a first),
Ace Had 14 Rebounds and was Yelling at Arizona which was amazing,
BJ Jenkins looked likea freshman for the first time, but he will be fine,
Rell Played GREAT defense and was the usual rell being a hustler,
Hubbard... I think he looked like himself and he shot well and played hard
Holland played really well, hes not out there for offense, but he was a defensive pest last night, and thats what hes there for

And thats all im talking about

I'm a huge Rell fan and have defended him since the beginning. I think he deserves a spot on this team and probably is right where he belongs at a low D1 school. I'd say he is our best on the ball defended and as scrappy as the come. He's not going to score 15 a night but he's the hustle type player every team needs.

Russ, I just can't figure out. He's got talent and he should be scoring 5-10 points a game and grabbing a minimum of 6-7 rebounds. I don't get why he hasn't been effective. I agree with Jon and that part of it is his confidence. It's shot.

UHHHH, smitty has been here for a year and a half and he has gotten better. he's gotten more aggressive, his D is better, and jumpshot has gotten better. he's a good player and has gotten better since he's been here

fair enough...but we have yet to win a game with Brew in the lineup, could that be by chance?? sure...but the team has yet to get better....like I said there are many other reason besides Brew, but I just can't ignore the fact we have gone 0-10 when Brew plays...granted the competition got better, but supposedly so were we....I just think the whole team is out of sink and it happend by throwing Brew into the starting line up when he came back...that is the real problem...

The reasons for the losses with Brew is not Brew. The reason is the person controlling playing time and what position he plays.

Oh, I just wanted to say it without it being hidden in a paragraph where people may or may not read it. That way, if they miss it in yours, they'll see it on mine. If they read it on yours, they'll see both.

I'm glad that we were able to escape with a win last night. LU certainly had a chance to win the game. We were up 5 with Blair on the floor and the ball in his hands, fortunately we were able ,for once,to defend him. I probably won't get another chance to watch Larry Blair play but I can tell you honestly that he has been a thorn in the side of HPU for four years and from a basketball fans view I have really enjoyed watching Larry play. I have not enjoyed the beatings that he put on us but he works so hard to get his shot and then,in most cases, delivers. What,I guess I'm saying here is to not be to hard on your team, they may come around, and secondly, try to appreciate Larry Blair, his like doesn't come around often.

Sorry Manger, have to disagree with you. Smith has progressively got worse. His "standout" defense has slowed down and he's offered nothing offensively this year.

I see stuff that hints at improvements but I don't think coach is doing a good job in guiding him along..I think he has improved, but it has been overshadowed by the overall team and how they have reacted to the coaching staff
