I'm happy that the correct calls are getting made in the end but the 5 minute reviews to see who the ball went off of after a call has been made is killing the game
Well not the game bit my enjoyment of it.

I thought these reviews were pretty quick this game. But on the whole I agree

I noticed disappointed players. Nothing unsportsmanlike though.

I enjoyed the venom being spewed by their fans after the game you could hear over the announcers mics.

I heard some fan yell, "They're going to eat you alive!" I have no idea what that says about Lipscomb if we end up getting blown out in the tourney.

It was an emotional game which carried over to the crowd. I loved it.

Oh it was great. Loved it. Their students and fans were in to it. They don’t need a gimmick like Phillip MaCracken to create excitement. As a player to go in there to that environment and have everyone hate you when you leave? I’m ok with that 8)

A couple thoughts now that I’m home:

Scottie definitely flopped, but I think it was out of frustration. He kept getting some cheap shots that weren’t being called so he went over the top to get a call.

For the most part, Lipscomb’s fans were great. They reminded me a lot of our fans - polite, family oriented, etc. Stufents are always gonna be students and you’ll always have your regular fan who takes it over the top so I’m not gonna judge their fan base by those people.

Their arena is the perfect model for what we are going to have. There were 5500 people in there today and the atmosphere felt like a more modern version of Cameron Hall. If we continue winning, we will pull in 3500 on weeknights and 5000 on weekends and the atmosphere will be 100x better than Vines.

I was really happy for Ritchie. You could tell he was personally excited, but he stepped back and let all the focus be on the players.

It was cool to see the support we had eight hours from campus. I counted 5-6 former players or coaches just in the section I was sitting in. Kyle Rode and his family were there. All in all probably a few hundred Liberty fans plus the band and cheerleaders.

This is a legit rivalry now. The first two games showed sparks of it and we definitely made it official this game.

It was about as fun as you could’ve asked for in a championship game. It was great all the way around.

Yeah. I think this is a rivalry now as well. I’m not sure how much each coach likes each other and that’s going to carry over.
I hope you are correct about what the LU hoops arena will look like. I’m sure there will be a handful of suites for Jerry Jr and The Betters though.
I have no beef with their fans at all. Peppers does have a potty mouth though. I mean I’m sure LU players NEVER use that kind of language :D

Happy to see Lovell back on the court and playing with no fear after the injury scare on Thursday.

The place was electric. Great showing by the Lipscomb crowd. We beat a very good team. Good LU crowd. I’m excited for the students that made the trip to support their school. Those experiences help create more lifelong fans. For those of us that made the trip to the conference championship in 1994, it’s etched in our college experience.

RMK is a special coach. He understands culture. He has assembled a great staff. In four years, he has built the foundation. This is only the beginning.

Looking forward to the pairings announcement next week.

Not sure how much Of the post game espn caught but the replay on ESPN+ has a lot of footage of the team hanging out, dancing and having a great time! Medal awards and trophy presentation as well as the net cutting. I’m so proud of this team!

They cut away with seconds of the final buzzer. Glad to hear the thoughts from those made it to Nashville. I certainly enjoyed ASOR's Instagram Live feed of postgame newser.

Let the record show, I remains fully one of Coach McKay's biggest fans. Not only does he win but he gets us an doesn't waver. I am proud he is our coach.

As for the Scottie flop that seems to be the rage of the interwebs right now, there was no denying contact. He did oversell a bit (he was a tad off-balance trying to get up) but to not call anything particularly when the video shows the kid look straught at Scottie before the contact was egregious. The refs seemed to get caught up in the emotion of the crowd in the final five minutes, It happens. They are humans. I'm glad we were able to overcome the challenges. Our guys played like warriors.

Incredible heavyweight bout. And we came out on top and we likely ruined their senior laden season. They were all in on this year. Embarassed us at home. Looked unbeatable and then we beat them twice on the road in less than a month.

Also big time rebound after thst nf game. Scottie and georgie are the mvps today. Georgie played almost flawless honestly. Scottie kept us in it early when nobody else could do anything and came up huge late.

I cant see them challenging us next year unless they have big time transfers or something. I mean they literally lose everything but cooper buckland and asdulllah who appears could be a monster.

Does anybody know specifically why RMK got fired up? TV was inconclusive. He was talking to refs after Scottie got elbowed, and stepped away from them calmly, seemingly content that they were going to look at it. Seconds later the camera cuts back and he’s having to be restrained. I couldn’t understand what happened in those few seconds for him to go from 0-60 so fast.

I think Alexander had something to add .... got Richie fired up.

Ritchie speaks in glowing terms about Alexander's coaching ability, and I'm sure there is genuine respect there, but their approaches are 180 degrees apart. This really has the makings of a heated rivalry going forward.

As far as the now-infamous flop is concerned, it's amazing to see the bias revealed by the twitterverse in making that the biggest deal of the game, when in fact it was a huge nothingburger. No call, and it had zero effect on the outcome.

I'm not shocked and I am sure there is a reason but it just makes me miss Doc so much.

It’s just sports, heat of the battle. They're a more physical team and the refs were letting them play. Richie getting involved, backing up the guys seem to make them more determined. I actually admire both teams; this could become a great rivalry.
